RC Driving Style
Ok I know you've all been on the edge of your seat waiting to hear me tell of my 1st experience with a real RC (not the cox crap with no radios when I was 5).

Well I broke my cherry this morning having a hell of a time watching my T3 do donuts in the street. I kept it out of the snow as good as I could and religiously blow dried anything with moisture while swapping batteries (you guys taught me well). To be honest, by the time the batteries got weak my fingers were numb so it was plenty. I also remembered not to charge warm batteries and the charger was so damn fast I never had to wait.

I don't know how you guys make a strait line with these things. Whenever the car was coming twordes me I had a hell of a time turning it correctly. Spent most of my time just watching it spin the tires and doing doughnuts.

I'm so glad I went electric, so much easier, cleaner and the torque is unbelievable. I can't wait to get my e-maxx!

Well, thanks to everyone who gave advice/help I know much more than I did a few months ago.

Now the real fun begins. They look nice on the bench. And there are a lot of little things to tinker with. But once you get your hands on the transmitter, you start your never-ending quest to go faster and do more insane things. You have a stadium truck (T3) and will be getting a monster truck (E-Maxx). I'm sure you're thinking right now how to get them to fly through the air. And what kinds of things you can jump over. And how you can get them to go faster. Believe me. It's a rush when you get your first few drives in. Only then does the madness truly begin.....

Yes it does, I just got into 1:8 scale buggies and I'm already trying to make a smooth jump from a 2 foot launch onto the house and drive it around and come off....my neighbor was shaking his head yesterday while watching that one....LOL....then he asked if I have any more of those T-maxxes for sale...I'm getting all the neighbors into these things....and the best part is I'll probably get all these toys back from them when they get bored of them......
what a country!

I'd be trying to jump this one off the curbs but theres too much snow. I don't want to hear a *zzzzzttt* ;)

I also have a tc3 but I need the new crystals.

Secrets to going in a strait line.

1) Don't turn the wheels :p:
2) Adjust the trim on the TX
3) Do a front end alignment.
4) loosen the slipper gear.

*1- No explanation needed
*2- There is a trim tab on your TX. Drive slowly and adjust it until it goes strait.
*3- Making sure both wheels have the proper camber and toe is important to going forward without being squirrelly.
*4- RCs with high power engines have what they call torque steer. If your RC pulls to one side during acceleration instead of going in a strait line this is called torque steer. You will need to loosen up your slipper to help absorb this torque.

that's just the magic smoke letting you know how mystical your RC is

Everytime I get the thing going in a strait line I learn its aiming twordes me ;) I need some kind of mounting box for the receiver and esc, that doublesided crap goes to hell when it gets wet.

Use Velcro to mount the rx and esc. Just make sure you clean the chassis good with alcohol before you stick them on. That should work...

If I remember correctly there is someone on this forum that sells double sided tape that doesn't come apart. Might want to do a search.

dude step off, the mom is so mine already!

I like the velcro idea, would make it very easy to clean the water out underneath.

Water and Electric Don't mix dude.......clean the surface you are mounting to with alchohol b4 you put the tape on.....it's the oil on the plastic that keeps it from sticking good.....or try that double sided tape search....does that plug get me a discount on the mom sale?

I figure this first car is going to get beat up pretty bad so after it got too cold yesterday I decided to have some fun with it;

This was a body I bought for the nitros, then I discovered it must have been either made for electrics or you would have to cut a huge hole for the motor.

The back end is so high I can change batteries just be unhooking the front ;)

I think this looks alot better than the original body

I'd like to figure out how to add body mounts higher in the front.

I know you've been wondering how my RC experience is progressing so;

Took my e-maxx out today for the first time, had a ball. Suddenly I noticed the rear wheels were not pulling thier weight and guess what, I broke the part that connects the U-Joint to the differential, of course the LHS was all out of that part.

Ran my T3 like crazy till finnaly one of the wires that connects the motor got severed somewhere, I can't see it but I've troubleshooted everything and its definitely a break in the wire. Unfortunately I don't have a soldering iron so I'll get one tomorrow.

Got my TC3 going for a short while, man that thing is like a bullet! I thought my T3 was fast. I need a couple screws and a set of crystals (ordered) for it to be RTR.
