Sounds good lol you would have an advatage thought my Impala weighs a couple tons LOL. Some day I want to build a 32 Ford powerd with a blown 502 Chevy big block now that would be one fast car :)

I would still race you with my Impala its going to be fast even thought it weighs as much as a bus haha I would still give you a decent run :jet:

I dunno If I can build a 350 the way my pop had in his 57 it would be one hell of a race man....when I was a kid my dad had one MEAN 57 chevy...we were driving to connecticut and he got a little crazy and blew the tranny.....we called a few junkyards from a pay phone and had the AAA guy tow us to one that said they had chevy trannies all over.....my dad spent 5 hours digging out parts and rebuilt his tranny in less than 1 hour by memory.....even replace ALL those funky needle bearings everywhere cause he found stuff he didn't need to get running he just knew it was in better shape than his stuff.....that man KNOWS chevys and can build 350s blindfolded...his 57 back in 78 was pulling over 550 HP at the wheels...and nothing he had on it was bolt-on.....I'm trying to get him to want another beast like that one again......and he always said he wanted a Nova SS before he dies (morbid crotchety old fart)......So I keep pushing him to sell the MG so we can get the nova.......I just hate driving the MG and waiting for it to brake down.....it do get the girlies wet though....but I want something that makes people piss themselves w/ fear when I start it up.......LOL.....FEAR THIS FORD BOY (wait, I drive a ranger)......ahhhh I'm happy either way MG or Nova....good luck w/ your Impala those are pretty in demand now...you can sell them even in beater shape to car builders for a pretty penny now I heard.....

That sounds like a killer 57. Too bad you dont have it now, my 59 should get peoples attention when I finally get it fired up it had 10 1/2 to 1 compression pistons and a high lift cam it should defiently make some noise :). Its set up for Nos but I dont think I'm going to mess with it I have to much into the motor and if It wasn't set up right BOOM! lol. I would like to get a blower for it that would give it around 700 hp hehehe but for a 348 they are very exspensive mabe someday when I win the lottery lol. The 59/60 Impalas are in high demand now I've seen rusted out ones on Ebay go for like 3 grand and they needed half the body replaced. I have had many offers on mine but I wont ever sell it. Have fun in your Mg just watch out for Impalas lol one of those hit you and your toast.

yeah my first car was a 72 spitfire and it got taken out by a 1969 olds(or boo-ick, I forget who makes that land yacht) ninety-eight......had that car for 1 month after I got my lscense......took a year and half to fix it up and some lil blue hair creams me while I'm at a stop sign......I was pissed....but life goes on......good luck w/ your suped up impala, don't look like we're sellin the MG now anyway.....gonna do all the finish work first...get top dollar......at least that project should make me some money instead of being a pit for it like RCs....LOL

Dude if i lived local i'd help out with that beauty. I like engines and body work. Body work is fun because its like sculpting. I like to build things alot, Anything. Thats why I am in this hobby. :)

Them old cars defiently will do some damage. My first car a 69 plymouth valiant was one of best car I ever had when I was 18 I drove it from Colorado to Ny and back with not a single problem. When I got back here I was out one night in a snow storm and loose control on some black Ice diddnt help I had burned of the back tires lol major cheater slicks hehe anyway I plow into a huge telephone pole at 60 mph and the only thing that happend to me [not wearing a seat belt] was I did a face plant into my metal grant steering wheel and split my lower lip in two and knocked out my front teeth. The poor plymouth diddnt survive :( neither did that damn pole it snapped it into like a twig. After the wreck you could still open the doors with no problem try that with a new car.

Luckly it doesn't need much body work at all need some repairs around the back wheel wells but that about it it a very solid car

I'll have to get some pics of my '67 mustang up here. My grandpa gave it too me about 1 1/2 years ago for my 15th birthday. He was the original owner, but he let it fall apart. It has about 110,000 miles. The engine and tranny have been rebuilt. The original paint is gone, my grandpa painted over with red rustolium primer red paint, and he did it with a brush. That paint is now peeling off, but there is no rust on the body. The windows all have RTV around the seals and smeared on the glass. The drivers side floor is rotting out. I have redone all of the suspension and brakes. Went to a power disc setup with those. The engine is a 289 with the 2 barrel and the tranny is a C-4 auto. I will get pics up as soon as i can. Good luck with the impala!

Sounds like you got your work cut out for you but have a solid car to start with is your stang a fast back I love them things like the one in the new gone in 60 seconds movie that car is TIGHT!!!

It is a coupe. My grandma wanted the fastback, but my grandpa argued against it, so they ended up with the coupe. I don't mind, i ended up with a muscle car! It is a nice solid frame, with the exception of the rotting floor. Hey rolex, wanna paint this one?

That still cool Mustangs are tuff, one car Ford didnt mess up to much lol :jk:
You can get really nice replacemnet floor panels from http://www.yearone.com/
Imo they are the best place to get parts for your classic car when it comes to quality I'm going to buy my panels from them one of these days lol and anything else I can't find on ebay that is the best place to find original parts at a decent price, over the years both the driver side and passenger side windows where broken I'm my Impala and I looked everywhere for them I found a place 120 miles from here and they wanted 90 a piece I ended up getting both for 40 buck on ebay I was so happy :)

Post pics of it if you have any !!!! I would love to see it no matter what it looks like right now

yeah, i already have ner floor pans, just waiting for my neighbor to get room in his shop so he can weld em in.

Damn it, i new someone would notice those. And its my job to take those off, I've just been too lazy. We have a big ass house with lights all around it! I meant, what do you think of the car? how about the "custom" made R on the hood? that was a paper clip... my friend made it and stuck it in the empty space. The Jack in the Box antenna head is brand new... I put that on there for fun.. gonna leave it on there untill it gets paint. i want to do white with some red competition stripes.

Thats a nice car!!!! It will look sweet your done, looks like you have something solid to start with good luck with it. doesn't anyone else have pics of there classic cars???

Stay with the original color. Two reasons. One, it's value, and two, if you change it, it's a nightmare to do all the extra painting inside the door jams, the underside of the hood, and the inside of the trunk. That actually takes longer than the entire exterior paint job. You can still do the stripes in white on red.

I want white with red stripes. I'm gonna have it prepped, so i dont need to worry about the work... money isnt an issue. Besides, all of the original paint in the trunk and under the hood is peeling off and the door jams have seen better days. I'm gonna strip everything off the car and have it all bead blasted. I'm not at all worried about its value, i dont like the stock color or accessories. Its gonna be a custom deal.

I know what you mean its cool to have an all original car if your planning on selling it down the road or that just the way you like them but having a one of a kind Custom car is just awesome I have had many people suggest I take off the custom rims and super wide back tires off and put the original wheels and hubcaps. Not my style besides it would never get traction and would spin the tires for a mile lol anyway your car sounds like it will be one hell of a nice car just take your time and do it right the first time good luck :)

If you're going the whole distance with a major restoration, then absolutely, go with the custom colors.
A stock paint job makes people say, "Look at that nice Mustang!", but custom paint makes them say, "Wow, look at that!!!". Good luck with it.

My car will be one of those that people say WOW look at that SWEET car!!! :)
