I thought I bent a shock shaft but upon inspection I found that the seals were as hard as a rock. They have only been in for a few months and never run on until now.

Has anyone else had this issue?
Think it was from lack of use?
Could it be from the green slime I used?
Any good after market seals?

Just looking for an answer or a better part.

I think you could have some defective seals there, Ed; I've got the same seals in my 10th scale AE's from about 7 years ago, and they're still soft and pliable. Perhaps the shocks were dry to begin with?

Hey Ed,

All I can think is that the shock was leaking. I know I have noticed mine are leaking... not heavily, but leaking none the less. Were all four of your shocks seals hard? I have noticed a decreased shock performance in mine here as of late. I have not looked at my shocks, but I will now that I have read this. I will let you know what I find.

I seem to blow a shock every time I bash my rc18. I just get a rebuild kit and keep one on hand. By the way I started using that green slime stuff and it seems to help with the mini's.

I solved the problem on my 18t by replacing with the X-Ray shocks from the M18t.
