I started to run the 18T clutch bell with my Picco 26. In order to get the gears to mesh I have to shift the motor all the way to the right. With the motor in this position the shock spring is sitting within 1 or 2 mm of the header and it is starting to cut a hole in the header.

Has anyone seen this before? What is the solution? I tried to stick a thick piece of velcro cloth in between the parts but the spring cut it up in no time.

My problem is the header hitting the chassis plates. It has a gash in it but it still does the job, as long as it doesn't hurt the spring I think it should be fine.

I had that problem with 52/15 gearing... but it didn't last long. I went to a 1/8 buggy shock using only 4 shocks with new era upper arms. Now I have plenty of room.

I think the only way to get away from that problem totaly is to either do what I did, or get elongated tvp's. I know a few places make them, but it gives you about another 3/4 inch on the rear. It also makes the savage more stable, but a side effect is that it gives your header more room between it and the shock.

i had the same problems with the header melting my shocksocks,i used an after market rear shock tower.
