.15 engine in a hpi type SS

I just had a quick question. If I wanted to upgrade an engine in a type ss could I fit a .15 into it? Since the type SS comes with a .12 I was wondering if a O.S .15 CV-R would fit. O.S. claims that it is .15 power in the same amount of space as a .12 engine. Just courious about these engines. Thanks all.:yes:

got an os 15 cv-rx in my ss, you dont need to do any mods to it, the engine mounts that came with your .12R will work, i had some trouble pushing the flywheel on, but it fits, you just have to work with it.

and which cv-rx was it. the one with 10ER or with 10C.

is it the one in your sig? If so that is a cv-x not a cv-rx. There is a difference in HP.

How much faster does one of those make the type ss move?

jonman, the size of the cv-r .12 is the same size as the cv-r.15. You will notice increase in horsepower and speed with the .15

how much more speed will you get? it depends on some other factors other than just engine, like gearing and where you are running.

You should be able to get more torque and speed with that engine.

I would say yes. The CV-R is an excellent engine, rock solid performance and reliability. You will be hard pressed to find a better engine for the money.

There are more powerful engines ouot there other than the OS, but you start going up considerably in price. I think OS engines are great. I have a CV-R .15 and I love it
