Is there an advantage to putting a rotor from a 13.5 into a 17.5 motor? Will it work?

I can't say for certain with HW but with Trinity motors, all their rotors are the same with the box stock motors and are interchangeable. They also sell various "High Torque" and "High RPM" rotors independently where many of their rotors are backward compatible for a handful of generations as well.

That said I would be willing to bet a donut that you can swap rotors between HW components as well, but this won't make any difference in performance.

Many years ago before ROAR certified motors were a thing, many people would swap a 13.5 stator into a 17.5 marked can as a means to cheat.

just throw a 10.5 in it lol.id focus on your driving and setups before swapping.
so question is can I get away with cheating? sure
I know a guy at a de funked local carpet track that ran a 3 cell in a 2 cell class till he got busted then super glued things ..
