So I bought a 1/8th scale filter set up for my Revo. I am running the 2.5R engine. Should I ShoeGoo it to the stock intake pipe and have the filter point towards the front of th truck? Or, should I modify the intake pipe so the filter points to the side of the track. The front of the filter is plastic, so I think that having more airflow into the side of the filter would be beneficial. Is this thinking right, or does it not matter?

Rancid, what filter did you buy?
A lot of people use the stock air filter manifold from Traxxas and cut the fitler housing to make it fit.

imo I don’t think it would really matter if you had it straight on air is getting sucked through regardless your not really relying on it passing through the shell straight down the carb (although I could be wrong) heres the link for the air filter mod incase you haven't seen it

Good link, salmonkid. That is exactly what a lot of revo owners have done as a mod.
I didn't modify my filter... I just CA'd it to my stock carb boot/neck. It's been holding up just fine for about a gallon. It's an OS 21 sized filter that came with one of my OS 21 Rg's.
