Hello everyone!!

I have my first 1/8 buggy on the way, Thanks Plaidfish!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What are some do's and dont's of a buggy?? any tips or suggestion are welcome!!!

Thanks
Stan

Don't baby it...LOL....check it after every day of running...I tear mine down every gallon (about every track day).....I let my XB8 slide for almost 3 gallons once and found the center diff was getting cut in half...still ran just had "issues"......

what are some things that needs to be constanly checked? Is it easy to go thru a gallon in a weekend with theses things? I am used to small tanks in 1/10 cars.

buggys are tuff. break it down threadlock all before running. a gallon is a lot of driving and it is a good idea to check everything out at gallons. a gallon last me about a month

well when I go to the track I pretty much run it all day.....until the races start....check the arms and where they connect to the bulkhead/diff case....the e-clips...I was going to do the mod to eliminate the e-clips if I kept the buggy.....also the diffs should be checked about every gallon....check slop on the turnbuckle ends....bearings....do yourself a favor and order a full set of the Avid RC ones......the ones in the car are almost new...as is most of the car.....but it's good to keep spare diff bearings...they are the same size as the axle carrier bearings too.....

What mod is done to eliminate the e-clips?
Is the 9.5Pro part dependant or will other Ofna buggy parts fit it?
Can this be turned into truggy?

Please keep the info coming!!

Thanks
Stan

Check for loose screws after every tank or session. I can usually find something that needs attention if I look hard enough.

the e-clip mod you need to make a flat spot on the Aarm pin....then drill a small hole in the plastic the A-arm pins run through....line the hole up with the flat spot on the pin....tap the hole for a short set screw of your choice 2mm is the most common.....use blue lock on the set screw and you're done w/ e-clips......you can get the cnc retntion plates for that OFNA off e-bay that give you more adjustment....there's no good longer arms that fit....so you'd be stuck w/ wheel extenders for a truggy...but yes OFNA makes a larger 62 t spur gear and I think the rear towers will work on the front for the correct shock geometry.....

The truggy thing was a future thought, no time soon. Is the wheel extenders a bad thing? and what are the retention plates used for? The e-clip eliminator sounds simple enough. Thanks!!
