1/5 shocks ???

40 Weight and the 4lb Works For Competition springs.

Ill snap some pics and show you what I'm talking about. They are the Hot Bodie 61161 Threaded Alum. Shocks. How much less travel than your stock shocks are your HB's? And also, how much closer to the bottom of the shock are the spring retainers?

I'm not saying these shocks dont perform. Just a little modding to get them on the way I like them to be :bling: They should perform like a champ!

Looks like my shocks are the same ones. I used the stock lower spring retainers on mine and some stronger rod ends. I ended up snapping two rod ends during install.

As for travel, without the bump stops they would have the same amount of travel. With bump stops, my Savage can not bottom out. With the 60 wt oil I am using and the springs I've got, even without the bump stops it would take some serious air to cause the shocks to compress far enough to bottom out the truck. Since I am always looking for some serious air, I like to take the extra precaution and ensure that it won't bottom out....thus the bump stops stay on.

Since I am a basher and not a racer, this works well for me.

Which rod ends did you go with?

So you seen the same prob I did with the spring retainers. I thought it was just me.

I used some of the TRAXXAS heavy duty rod ends I had in my kit as spare parts. They were too thick in diameter to handle the HB spring retainers ...so I used the stock retainers, and all is well.
