I have 2 mervs 1 is all stock and the other is all decked out with almost everything. And to be honest the stock one is just as tough. My son drives it and be beats the stock crap out of it. He hasn't broken much if anything on it. Enjoy the little guy.

Traxxas also makes a BB mount for this. It's the mount used on the Brushed version of the 1/16 Mustang.

fair enough, do you find any performance differences between the stock and upgraded rigs?

I'm running a stock VXL and had thought that I might upgrade to a 1/10 scale motor/ESC, but after playing with it on 3s, it doesn't really need anything in the way of power.

i just got my MERV in the post this morning and here are some pics of it. There seems to be a space for a second steering servo, does it come with two standard or is there any point in having two?

Yes there is room for a second servo. I am running two servos on my merv, the extra torque is nice but they chew through gears fairly quickly.

Some guys run 2 the gears are cheap and suck. I'm going to run mine till it breaks then just replace it will a better one. The best mod I've done is titus beadlocks with dirt hawgs they are a little taller and heavier so it don't flip as much. But you will need to change the gearing. Also couldn't see your pics.

how come the gears go quickly? I just looked at the pictures, what OS are you running or computer? ok i am looking at getting some new shoes for my MERV :D

I ran two stockers for all of four packs until one of them died, the next pack the other one died. Rumor has it since the linkages aren't adjustable it's hard to get them just perfect where they aren't binidng at rest, even though it doesn't sound like it. I went with a Hi Tec metal gear single in the end.

is it a noticeable difference between 1 servo and 2?

I run a single stock servo, but when it dies, it will be replaced by a metal geared HiTec.

I run 2.2 Dirt Hawgs on Titus beadlocks. They are heavier so I had to add a couple of teeth on the spur to compensate, but the truck runs great like that.

Are mudrock beadlocks very similar just a bit different looking? also is £40 ( $60 roughly) a good price for Titus beadlock with 2.2 Dirt Hawgs.
Ok i like the look of that HiTec servo, does it have plastic or metal gears?

I just saw that integy do an aluminium billet blue/silver/red chassis for the MERVs, looks very nice! But costs £130 ($200 roughly) :P

NO! Integy alloy is garbage, stay away. They make good crawler motors, steel roll cages, and there was something else I can't remember off hand. Their bling stuff is horrible though.

how about GH racing bling, whats the general verdict on them?

I have some bling on mine. Traxxas red pushrods and turn buckles also hot body racing carriers quick suck to much slop. Also running traxxas cvds. I've been wanting to add a heat sink but haven't yet its been a shelf queen for almost a year.

haha so GH racing are all good by you guys :hehe: ?
and any news on the wheels for £40 I mentioned earlier?

I paid about $40 US for a pair with the Dirt Hawgs already installed.
