Hey new here. First time writing on here. This is my first electric and my concern is... I bought 4 zippy flightmax 2200mAh 2S1P 20c series battery. Will I damage the motor if I run the series y connector? Or the batteries? Thanks alot any feedback would be appreciated to a newbie on electrics.

P.S. I also bought hexTronic Balancer/Charger Dual Charge Capable(JST-XH Plug)

Like I said this is all new to me so any feedback would be great!

You must run the packs in parallel and not in series or you will damage the VXL system.

Consult your manual.

stock velineon 380 vxl-3m

thank you. haven't got it yet. get it thursday can't wait!

I thought the new setup could run 2s in series for 14.4v......

From the traxxas site:

"Class-Leading Speed

Some mini-models are "fast for a mini." That's not good enough for Traxxas. The 1/16 Slash VXL 4WD is just plain fast. At 30+mph with the included 6-cell NiMH battery, Slash VXL is nearly twice as fast as most mini models, and faster than most electric RTR trucks of any scale. Install a second 6-cell battery to unleash the Velineon Brushless Power System's full fury, and Slash VXL jumps to over 50mph—all with proven-safe NiMH packs. No other RTR truck, regardless of scale, makes it so easy and affordable to experience this level of high speed and wheelie-popping power."

I saw that and I saw this.

Dual-battery operation requires attention to precautions outlined in the Slash VXL 4WD manual. Follow all precautions to assure peak performance and reliability of your model and batteries. Traxxas parallel and series Y-harnesses are for use with 2/3A battery packs only.

What I can't find is how many volts the system can take.

Maxamps states not to run theirs in parallel.

However they recommend series for NiMh.

Ahh, well i stand corrected.... They should be more clear on their site... You could always run a 3s and tear it up.
