Might not be a fare comparison but I want to know from people who actually have BOTH, how the 1/16th E Revo compares to a 1/10th slash as far as durability for serious bashing as well as racing?

I have raced the Slash for the last year but have only had the the MERV on track once for practice and loved every minute of it. I had a set of Jconcepts Double Dees on it and it hooked up great when I could keep the front end down:D Like all 4wd's it cornered great as long as you were in the throttle. The Slash on the other hand is a totally different race style it is more of using a good power slide in the corner to shoot you up the straight and use the wall as a bumper if need be, where the Merv is more finesse and throttle control.

Ya I've raced my slash a bunch I'm just wondering how durable the erevo is, how much abuse will/can it take compared?

Oh I think between the two if they where both in stock form the Revo would last longest every time. I have throttled the living crap out of the Revo and hardly broke anything, The slash on the other hand it seemed I was already upgrading stuff because it broke at this point. My buddy and I were bashing the other day when it was 25 deg. out, We just knew it was a matter of time before something snapped and sure enough the MERV ran into his Slash front end and the damage was catastrophic we both where laughing.

Slash Damage
broken RPM Castor block
snapped stud on steering servo
bulkhead stripped
steering block arm

MERV damage

None

Hmmm, Ok thanks. I'm thinking of trying out a new rig cuz my slash goes no where now that we have ice and snow. 1/16 revo would be fun on icy roads.

Got some HPI paddles for the back of my Slash that work great in the Snow back when my Slash's were stock and I wasn't worried about water.

About 2 inches of Snow last winter at the time

With Paddles Stock Slash

Without Paddles Stock Slash

I'd say the paddles did the job! I was impressed. Shocked it would turn that well with paddles.

trust me . .it is quite entertaining. . .if you think the merv is a handful when its dry and nice out. . .you just wait my friend

EDIT: Dont use 2 batteries in series uncontrollable

I've had my 1/16 Slash out in the snow a few times now. As long as the snow is not deeper than 2cm it's a rocking good time. Icy parking lot with just a little snow. I just need more batteries, gonna get three more packs and run two packs in parallel. It's more then fast enough as is with a 6cell nihm packs, I can't imagine running it with Lipo or 2 sticks in series.

How big are the battery tray's on the merv? Id be running 3s and need to be sure it would fit without any trouble.

it can take 14.5x100x35mm or 20x90x35mm.

It kinda tapers in both ends.

ok thanks bro.

If your going to bash it buy some extra a arms or a set of rpm arms...I go through the stock ones like candy!

i've thrashed my Merv endlessley and it takes a beating...only thing i have killed are 2 of the axle u-joint drive cups..but i think it is from the hardware store springs i used and the fact it gets the truck as high as possible and make the angle on those drive cup extreme at all times..plus hours of 3s running and jumping and hard time on it....i'm impressed with it for sure and it's durability...

What do you mean or? How does it take two different sizes?
