Exactly what I was thinking. I would like to build the accessories myself though.
I know a guy that has a bunch of popsicle sticks and a ton of tools. I bet I can talk him to it. ;)
There you go man. I think he already has some planks glued up too!

You ever played with styrene modeling? If not, I bet you'd enjoy it. I mean, you're obviously a pro at metal and wood.

Far from a pro but the sign of a good artist is how well he covers his mistakes. Lord knows I make my share.
The City has a maintenance truck with all kinds of cool stuff on it.
I'm sure that's the route I'm going.

That will be really cool man.

You need this :)

I didn't like the first set of links so I bought a better set.
Still have a ways to go yet, electronics, accessories, definitely a winch, bumpers, but she is a rolling chassis now at least.
I still might turn it into a tow truck but I'm just going to fill her with accessories for now.
The shocks are super stiff and I can only get about 1/2" articulation but I ordered a set of springs that will be here tomorrow.
The wife named her BLUE-BY-YOU.

Ooooohhh shiiiiiiney! Lol! Such a cool build! I LOVE your tire choice!
That blue color... it reminds me of a guy who ran a body shop. He built all sorts of hot rods and bad ass trucks... all painted "Holton Street Blue" I'd swear its the same shade!
Its looking great so far!
How did you do with welding the aluminum?
I tried it once with sticks and a jewler's torch.
I need to try some more! Lol!
Just wondering if you had any pointers now???

Thanks bud, to be honest, the welding was a huge failure. The tubing I used is super thin and would blow out really easy.
I actually held the corners together with hotmelt glue and then bolted my diamond plate to the tubing.
The diamond plate is very thin also so I actually used spray adhesive and glued it to RC plane plywood.
It came together nice, I'm happy so far.
A lesson learned and now I know to buy thicker diamond plate and solid aluminum, but then again, I highly doubt I will build another one.

Those axles look really nice. You're making me want to get into 1/10.
I was totally shocked with the quality of these axles. They are Injora and I will definitely buy them again.
They came from China but only took 1 1/2 weeks and was only $75. I first posted $65 but I was wrong, I just looked. Still cheap enough.
This is probably my last one for awhile.

This is good info for sure! Thicker stuff for welding! Got it!
It really looks good. Whatever your 'plan-b", its looking like an "A+" from here!
Injora is decent quality eh?
I'm always leary of an "unknown" Chinese company. That shipping time wasn't bad at all! I've waited longer for things from California!

Injora is one of my favorite go to's, especially for mini crawler parts. Truck is looking killer, and tell Mrs. Frog I now have Linda Ronstadt stuck in my head. 🤣

I had her stuck in my head for about 15 years!!! Oh my wasn't she stunning! Lol! Blue Bayou on the Muppet Show I believe it was... 🥴❤️❤️❤️

She was definitely a hotty! I miss the era when singers could actually sing.

Sadly, so few artists these days seem to be able to actually sing. When I find a good one, I tend to treasure their music.

"There are two kinds of men in this world. Those with a crush on Linda Ronstadt and those who never heard of her." - Willie Nelson.
