1/10 Buggy upgrades...

Well what do you guys think? I think I got everything fixed...carb closes and the rod doesn't make contact anymore...
and is it normal for a servo to hum at rest???

also had to mod the futuba provided horn alittle...

Also I am thinking of changing my receiver battery pack to a LiFe hump pack from reedy or hobbico, but I dont understand the mah ratings...anyone got an easy explanation? also is an acehobby t6ac a decent charger?

engine sealing is the next project for anyone following my build...

If its hummin its still trying to travel just move the trim a hair till it stops then make the ajustment in the linkage otherwise you'll mess up that servo. Otherwise good job corectting the problem.

i just wated the video again and this guys rite. i'd suggest just unscrewing the plastic server piece, turning the transmiter on, set trims to neutral, turn receiver then put the plastic piece on the servo. check everything before ya tighten down the screw to make sure it's working rite.

thanks guys! yeah I kinda thought humming was a bad thing and is why I didn't leave it on or mess with it just in case.

the higher the mah the longer they will last. a higher mah is basically a larger capacity. the ni-cd or ni-mh is the type of batteries. ni-mh are better batteries.

theres lipo too, but i prob. wouldn't run a lipo receiver battery, i don't think you'd need it.

ok cool thanks, that is what I wanted to know, I knew the different kinda of batteries, just didnt know what the Mah ratings meant.

once i figure out this tiger drive deal, I am going to get one and then seal my engine.

Well I got everything in I was waiting on, here is a few pics to show how this project went.

Oh yeah I sealed and lubed my VX-.16 as well...forgot to take pics though.

I got everything done, loctited, sil-glyded, yamabonded, and I got it all back together and paper trained...I mean paper tested. LOL.

Next on my too do list is to find a hair dryer and heat cycle the motor. Also waiting on my dewalt drill/ driver to show up so i can start this beast. oh and I have a O'Donnell TGX1 Infrared Temperature Gauge w/Stopwatch and a Dubro kwik-stop coming from tower. I wanted to get the PIT-STOP from dubro, but how useful is it really?

Well it only took a month to get it but here is my new air filter:

my 12v li-ion dewalt drill/ driver came in today as well!!! now I am completely ready to break the motor in and see what the fuss is all about.

i do have to say, you've taken damn near all the correct steps to keeping that thing maintained well.


i'm curious how long it lasts... i think it will last you a while with the initiative you put in to take care of stuff. as long as u don't run it lean.

Well today it was 65 degrees out and I finally did the first heat cycle...kinda hard to film and drive though....my foot is fine by the way, LOL. everything seems to have paid off so far...nothing broke so far.

Well kids I have been playing with my exceed hyperspeed for a few weeks now and I have had only one problem so far...
the exhausted pulled off the header, but I zipped it back in place and kept on going.

I dont know if it was all my preparation or if this thing isnt as bad as everyone thinks, but either way I love it.

For me, id say that i enjoy it 75% tinkering with the rigs, 25% actually driving. The prep work is like restoring an old car. Getting it ready, and having fun doing it, then getting to drive it comfortably.

I agree, I love learning new stuff. so this was a ton of fun putting together.

I have yet to break anything...and I have moved on to small amounts of air time. I figure if I keep pushing the boundaries, maybe I can finally fix something.

Well it has been awhile since I have been on here and or messed with my nitro...fishing and archery are taking up most of my free time. it is funny how easily we for get what we have learned in such a short amount of time, I need a refresher on how to tune the beast.
after I do some reading on here, I will post some more on how it is holding up.

This Buggy did well for me. It never broke anything. I didn't have time for it so I sold it on CL to a gentleman looking to try nitro out. But don't despair just yet, I have a new Team Associated SC10B coming in the mail, I should have it Friday. I am glad to be back!
