Hey Guys,

Looking to get a nicer bodies for my on road nitro car.
I've been looking online for some bodies that are available.
Just having a hard time figuring out what will fit my car.
What are the most importent feature that I have to watch for when buying a new bodies.
These are the specifications for my car:
LENGHT: 360 mm
WIDTH: 200mm
HEIGHT: 112mm
WHEELBASE: 260mm
GROUND CLEARANCE: 4.5mm
GEAR RATIO: 1:7:67

Give me all the info you know please...
Also anyone know a good website that sell painted bodies in canada?
I'm looking for the Silver Mustang GT-R (Cheaper the better)...

PLEASE REPLY, I'm SURE THIS WILL HELP ALOT OF OTHER NEWBIES

When it comes to 200mm R/C touring car bodies I feel the best are HPI. They have a huge selection and are the most accurate. Compare their Mustang, Ford GT, BMW, etc. to others and notice the crisp lines, accurate shape, etc.

I wouldn't buy a painted body, but that's me. For only a few bucks you can get a rattle can of R/C lexan paint and do it yourself. A quality body with paint masks for the windows, etc. is really easy to paint a simple single color.

I'm sure others will chime in with their favorite body brand, but it's hard to beat the 200mm touring bodies from HPI...

HTH...

I did notice HPI huge selection of painted and clear bodies.. Everyone is selling them on every site!
No I'm dont think I would be that great in painting the body myself. Never done it before! I'm sure I will try it at some point but right now I'm going to wurrie about learning the car itself lol!
So ill pay extra to have a painted body... but what do I have to look for when ordering a body for my car? Is it WIDTH, LENGHT, WB???
None of the website give those information, all they say its 200mm.
200mm means width?

Correct, 200mm is the width and the most important thing. Wheelbase is usually very close. Why I recommended the clear body is because it allows you to more easily find the mounting post holes, trim for the wheels, nitro pipe stinger, etc. BEFORE you paint it and can't see through it anymore...

MustangMan, that is a great idea for a newbee. I like the Mazda 6 200mm myself.

i cannot agree more, go with a clear body dude, trust me, painting a body is pretty simple, not to mention it makes mounting A LOT easier. painting is easier than you think. order a can of POLYCARBONATE (lexan safe) paint from towerhobbies.com / amainhobbies.com / your local hobby shop. get a body with it too.

most likely the body will come with window masks (just stickers that you stick on the windows to keep the paint off them)

spray in light coats, being as smooth and even as you can

if using more than one color spray dark to light (black before white, etc)

remember you are painting from the INSIDE so the first thing you put down will be shown first (ie. paint a black stripe first, then coat in red will give you a black stripe on a red base)

i hope this helps you (however it is long with alot of these side notes)
:whhooo:

The one thing that makes the difference between 190 and 200mm is the wheels you'll need. 200mm needs the offset rims to make up for the additional width.
