Got fouled up with the Bronco last weekend. Could only back up. Was dark and I had to stop because I didn't have enough light with the stock back up lights. Thought I was stuck again.

I would like to put some small driving lights on the rear bumper.
Would it be a problem if I wired them into the stock reverse lights? How big can I go before blowing a fuse?

Its not so much blowing a fuse I'd worry about..its melting the wiring to them. Your better off with buying a kit that's purposely made for it. As a mechanic, I've seen it happen, and its not pretty. Do it right and Do it once.

If you buy a set of regular white driving lights they should come with a relay. You would only be using the stock reverse system to turn on the relay which if wired correctly would have it's own circuit.

i want to do this on my new truck as well. the tint just makes it next to impossible to see. so wire up the lights just like you would any lights, but use the stock reverse as basically the switch wire?

If you use the relay to turn on the lights using the reverse light signal as a trigger you should have no problems. Just be sure to run the power to the battery and use a good ground.

So that is why I have a hard time driving up in WVA..... I am driving forward when I should be driving in reverse! I knew there was something screwy with how you guys drive up there! LOL

Naw, front slid against a tree. I'm having a blast since the 'ol lady doesn't have to have it for a daily driver.

I'll be good hooking the power wire from the lights to the relay then?
Just run a hot wire to the other side? Right?

Yeah, you should be okay running it that way, just make sure that you have a really good ground.

Got any links?
I searched on advanced, JC Whitney and Radio shack. Just want to add a cheap set of lights. Got it on the wiring.

I know Tractor Supply has some cheap lights and so does Harbor Freight ($15-20).

Can get the lights anywhere. Was thinking about the relay.

Sorry.

Got how to hook it up bro.

Wanting a link for the relay. All the ones I've seen were made for one specific vehicle. Needed a plug or solder wires and use black tape.
