We're starting to rework the track for the summer. We've got 5 or so loads of clay comming in the next week, and then FUN FUN FUN!!

If any of you guys have ideas for layouts I would appreciate them, I know a few of you guys race in a bunch of places...Jet, psu, monkey all come to mind for some reason. Gotta figure out a layout now.

Here are a few pics, I'll keep you guys posted as we go.

Man I need one of those tractors at my place........I really want to build a track..

How much space do you have to work with.???

The June edition of RC Car features the 2007 Nitro challenge track on page 54......now that is a track....I am not saying you need to build the whole thing....but that is a great place to start for ideas.....

We have about 145x70. I've got a few idea, and yea I saw that nitro challenge pic...AMAZING track.

IF any of you have pics of your layouts I would appreciate them.

Hey Ben, I have pics during the build at our club this year but the finished layout is on our website: www.jcp-rc.com
Our track director tried to combine a few different "cool" spots from some recent big races (Nats, Nitro Challenge, etc). Our layout looks like you can just pin it and go but it's just the opposite, it's very technical. The front straight for instance is double-double-triple, on the second double if you don't downside it and hammer it, you won't make the triple and in most cases it's double-double-double-single. There's a couple options of double-single or triple in the track choosing triple causes you to run a different line into the corner and brake differently which messes most up. Also the small single in front of our step up makes you hit it right and use the step up. Then there's the big straight, it runs diagonal across the track which is about 170' long and well, it's got just the slightest dogleg in it that will cause you to slam the pipe if you try to hug the inside or outside to setup for the bowl turn. It's also got a very slight hump that makes the car just a little light on the wheels and will catch you trying to brake too hard!.

man i wish we had a tractor like that to use when we re did our track. \

we used a skid steer, backhoe, wheelbarrels, car loader, and a number of picks(?) and shovels.

Glitchers? On another note, have you been to the new track in Danville?

Yup! Glitchers, havent been to the new track,. last i heard (1-2 weekends ago) it wasn't complete yet. and i have no clue where its at

Supposedly done, and quite large from what I heard at Max's last run. Apperantly right off of I-74 (maybe visible from 74 too). Cash race today huh?

Sorry to hijack VB. Check ot dirtburners website as well, they are in St Louis and hosting the 1/8 Buggy Nats this year.

yea, cash race today, dont know how well or how bad it went. first actual race this season on that track.

i was busy helping the neighbor out with cutting a few trees down

Well guys we got our dirt today. Starting with 5 loads and we'll go from there!!!! We are either going to start tomorrow night or sunday!

WOOO HOOOO HOOOOO

Build On!!!!...get some pics of the process if you can.....I am interested to one come together from scratch.....

yea i've got some more pics, a few action shots of a hellfire also

just need to do some uploadin

Let's seem em VB. I took about 300+ photos during our track build, mostly cause we brought in so much dirt on top of what was already there and we completely re-did the website.

Well, this gives you guys an idea of the size of our track. We only got our dirt this morning(problems with our supplier) So we got some from another place....and this stuff was free! And its PERFECT! This is as of 11am, I think they had some more to bring us. I'll post some pics as we start working!

Well we got most of our dirt, and started moving it around. We used the big tractor to place it, and will use the little new holland to do the finish work. Its gonna be great!

Here are the some pics, they aren't that great. My mother in law stood in one place and took most of them there. I'll take some more and post them in the morning.

So far this we have only paid for fuel for the tractors, dirt and usage has been free. :woot:

damn, I wish I had some land.. that would be sooo cool to have a racetrack in my backyard.. I keep fiddling with the idea of putting a 1:18 track out back but I barely have room for that. Keep up the good work man!
