Never heard of that brand so I can make no judgement about quality.
But I will offer these simple cautions whenever you're buying a ride. Always make sure you are buying a rig that has parts support that is consistent and accessible. There's nothing worse than saving a few dollars on a new car but having to leave it on the shelf because you can't get parts. A broken car isn't worth a penny. You may be saving a few dollars on the front end, but if there's no parts, you'll just end up spending more for another car in the future. If you live by a hobby shop, see what cars they stock parts for. That will make it tons easier to maintain. If you have to order online, make sure you can easily get parts. Sticking with a brand name usually insures you'll be able to find OEM parts or aftermarket parts that will keep your car running whenever you want it to.

Yeah I agree. I race on-road and my friend wants to get into the hobby and start with something a little more forgiving. He found the Xtreme and I had never heard of it so I put it up here to see if anyone else had. Looking into AE RC10gts right now though.

that thing screams smartech all the way.. it would be 160$ waisted imo...

I started on an RC10GT. That or the GT2 would be decent platforms to learn on. And you can find them at decent prices on Ebay and stuff.

The RC10gts with RPM parts make them bullet proof, and they run for ever on the stock engine. I had one for over 3 years and loved it, easy to work on also. Do not waste your money on these othe fly by night RC companies. The RC10gts are easy to get parts for also.

I found another link to th Xtreme that looks a little more credible. Parts are avilible and I'm going to call the lhs to see what they think.
