This subject came up last night between a bashing session between friends...

during running our Rigs @ our Bashing Spot... My 1 friend just got a XO-1 "he saved up for like ever to get it" & he's getting made fun of by another one of my friends & said You think that XO-1 is fast. My Brother will beat that car & threw down a Challenge of a straight up race

NOW mind you my Friends Brother RACES every Saturday Night @ a local Paved Oval Track

His car is a 95-103 MPH "depending on gearing" RACING GO-KART
It run's on 108 octaine VP racing Fuel
& He's got trophies to show for it
& last year he finished 2nd in points & is on the verge of getting 1st this year
This Thing looks FAST Sitting Still...

Against my Friends XO-1 totally stock "Now remember Traxxas say's this car will do 100MPH outta box.... & he's so CERTAIN he can take & beat it......
& his Brother's like HELL Yea he's up for it & said he can set the race up on a PRACTICE DAY on a Friday all's he needs to do is set it up with the race officals & Track.....

We are ALL standing there "ALL 6 of us" telling him not too except the Challenge because the RACING-Go KART is going to "SMOKE YOU" he does not think so..... What do you guy's think on this race MY FRIEND WANTS THE RACE SET-UP....

The go kart will probably win, because the X0-1 is geared so tall that it takes it a while to get up to its top speed.

I'm with Hamz, Although most gokarts i have seen takes a while to get up to speed as well, but i dont think it will take as long as the Xo-1

I thought the XO1 did 0-100 in 4.9 seconds? Gearing aside, I'm going with the go kart simply because I doubt most people can drive an XO1 at the limit, I know I couldn't.

I don't know about that....have you seen the xo-1 videos where is leaves super cars standing still? Porsche with a 0-60 in under 3.5 and the xo smashed it in half the time. I know those carts are crazy fast but that car is explosive off the line.

I'll go with the XO-1 as long as he has some experience with it...

Depends on the type of race and how good the driver is. No way can a go cart only capable of 103 launch off the line like a XO-1 that’s setup correctly.

After some reading and videos it is pretty quick to get to its speed....... could be a toss up

There's no toss up. The xo 1 is electric so it makes full power instantly. The go cart won't stand a chance. The issue is keeping the xo1 in a straight line. There's a few local guys that have their xo1's at 150 mph. They do 120 with no sweat..

One guy here hit a rock with his at 100 and the car came off the road, broke the guys arm that it hit, bounced off and put a monster dent in the car door that it hit. Xo1 was fine

Thanks guys for the input some going with the go-kart & some going with the XO-1.... But the race wont take place... My Friends brother asked Saturday if he can set the race up on a Practice day on a Friday... & the track guys said YES & did not have a problem with it but the TRACK OWNER said NO....... I don't see why not they can't RACE but I give 2 thumbs up for trying.. I would of loved to see the race go down......

even if the car is faster and takes power instantly, there still the problem of keeping the car straight, if he can keep it straight then he can't get it fast enough to outrun the cart. So it is still a toss up.
