Well, i found the XL chassis plates on ebay for just under 20 shipped and the extended drive shaft for 9 shipped. Didnt get the motor plate as I'm still running the 4.6. You can see the length comparison next to my Flux which is the length the X used to be. Lot better than over 65 bux plus shipping

just included picture with same tires and body to see the difference...

That got you extended but isn't the XL is also wider?

Yes it is but only with extended axles which IMO are a bs way to do it and they arent even that much wider (15mm wider)... if they make extended suspension arms then ill widen it
 
Yeah, with those big joes on there already, widening the axles would just put more stress on your poor axle bearings.

That thing is quite a bit longer. Mine has the old school hot bodies longer tvp's that I think extends it 1".

Yep wouldnt even put the wider axles with stock tires. The XL chassis pretty much puts the tires of the shorter truck dead center of the longer truck so a little more than an inch
