Quick question. I have a savage X SS and it comes with the steel disks and pads for the brakes. I'm on my second set of the year - going on 3. The outter disk is rubbing on the clutch bell....am I doing something wrong? The outter disk becomes worn and gets a major ridge on it after a feel tanks.
Part two of the question - should I just switch to the fibreglass disks?
Thanks
Nigel

Fiberglass or not, it shouldn't do that, like Racer said post some pics please, and we'll try to help:surrender.

Not the greatest pictures sorry - hopefully it will show something.
You should be able to notice the outter disc is "wearing" on the outter edge.
And for some of you - sorry for the dirty truck - I know it should be spotless :) LOL

When I smashed up my savage (Pretty sure I bent and twisted both TVPs, bent engine plate, bent engine support, broken rear skid plate support, and a couple other things I think.) I'm pretty sure my brake disk(one or maybe both, not for sure.) were rubbing on my clutch bell, I think they were but I can't remember now.

I have a feeling that if you had that much bending you would notice it, but it's worth a look.

I don't think the TVP's are bent. Perhaps it's as simple as the gear ratio? What size bell and spur are you running?
