RC Driving Style
which one do you prefer a savage X or XL, cause i have a savage xl and i am thinking of converting it to X.:)
 
You are shorting yourself (no pun intended) if you convert to an XL to an X. The XL handles a good bit better than the X did. The longer/wider wheelbase helped it a lot. The ONLY advantage I see that the regular X has it you have a bigger selection of bodies to choose from. If that is the case you can just swap the side plates and rear drive shaft and you now have an X length truck. I would keep the wider stance if I was you. Just my two cents!
 
Very true Racer I like the looks of the X better but for running my extended Savage handles way better than the standard.....I like the cheaper bodies too.
 
i recently converted my flux to an XL flux. and man it is way more stable because of it being wider and longer. but like frickenjoey said, you don't have many body options. I have my stock chassis plates if you're interested. As far as i know, they should work but i'd double check just to be safe...
 
i have the savage x, and i also have the savage xl conversion kit... I've tried both and i find the x is way more fun to drive... its a little harder to steer, but its quicker and also does wheelies and donuts better.. haha.

and body options are better as mentioned before.

well for 2 reasons:
body selection i like the 1970's 80's chevy,ford bodies to small for the XL
I like the scale monster truck look with the old chevy or ford bodies with masher tires.

but the xl does give more stability when driving:headscratch::( super confused......
 
I rather the X over the XL.

I dont like the trucks to be completely controllable.. gotta have some sort of wildness.
 
I prefer the XL. Dont get me wrong the X is a beast but the XL takes a lot more punishment and can handle more rugged terrain due to its longer/wider wheelbase. In my opinion. I own both X ss(w/5.9K) and XL(w/picco P3 .28) plus a Revo(looks and on-road demon). My XL is only for off-road use(basher) and my X is on-off road use. Depend what you want. Looks, performance, on/off road use, or just personal prefrence. I couln't decide my self so i have a different use for each vehicle.
