X Maxx 8s Steering Issue

I have a Traxas X Maxx 8s that has maybe one stock part left on it but my issue is with the steering if i pick up the truck and movie it side to side the steering servo turns the wheels whether the remote is on or not if i grab a wheel and try turning it it won't move but if I shake the truck side to side the wheels turn left and right this also happens when driving it the wheels will whip back and forth

Does it have a gyro in the receiver perhaps?

Sounds like gyro. If your transmitter and receiver are equipped with thee gyro system
it helps stabilize your rig when you turn. Kind of like auto drifting so to speak.

If you have the original remote/receiver then you have TSM (Traxxas Stability Management). If you have Spektrum, then it is AVC (Active Vehicle Control)

There is a dial on your remote to increase or decrease this function.
