I was looking at the factory five units. I just don't like the idea of having to use a donor car. The place I am probably gonna go to, whenever I raise the dough, is Unique Motor Cars . It's based in Gadsen, Alabama. What impressed me was the fact that it comes to you as a full rolling chasis. Granted, once finished, it's going to cost over 30k (including engine and tranny), I am willing to do it. Gonna make it a project car for me, my bro and dad to do together.

It's gonna stay in the family once finished but the whole reason for wanting to do this was to be able to say to my kids, "This was put together by your grandfather, uncle and me." All we have to d now is get a new house, or as my wife says ... we need a garage that comes with a house. 6 cars and a boat take up a lot of space!

You don't really have to use a donor car. You can just as well buy all the needed parts brand new. It just makes it much more expensive of course. With a donor car you might be able to make it run with 20 grand. With all brand new parts it might go well beyond 30 grand.
The setup my bro-in-law has right now sports a Mustang Cobra rear axle including brakes and Mustang Cobra front brakes. Pretty beefy brake and axle setup. Also a 302 marine engine instead of a stock Mustang engine. So it really depends on how you want to setup the car.
Also a 3-link suspension in the rear and coil-overs all around.

I just looked at thefactory five website. Nice design. PRetty similar to the Unique Motor company's design. Both kits (the mk Roadster and 427)are comprable. In BASE price. It's the options and gotta have's that bring the price up (so what else is new!?!) Either way, still gotta get it together and running.

BTW, when it comes to registering it, what category does it go under? I'm sure there are different regulations that it comes under here. Won't drive it here when it snows though! BRRRRRRRR, gives me chills just thinking about it.
