X-Box or PS2?

Good form Rex 2342. I agree totally!! YOu can have fun with either PS2 Or XBOX!! It's a matter of personal choice and that's all that matters to the owner. As long as you can have fun on the console you have then it doesn't matter unless you want both then it gets better!

I say xbox, it has better graphics plus the hard drive is pretty nice you don't need a memory card to save.

yea, thast nice, but ya know what makes the ps2 beter? the memory card. it must be nice to carry a en pound box or whatever of all ur xbox stuff over to ur friends house just to play a multiplayer game with both your custom whatevers in the game, beit a guy or a car or watever. anyways, our litle half ounce memory cards sure are hard to get around eh? :trout: :trout: :trout:

You need to think before you actually push "submit reply" because you're the one who said the PS2 was "beter" ...lol The Xbox has room for 2 in each controller!! Don't get me wrong the PS2 is a great console but you say the PS2 is "beter" for this reason and tha reason...then you go and say The XBOX has the .....8 gig hard drive. Think before you......THINK!

hey dude, id rather have my T key no work 100% than my E key, somehow i fixed the "e" andn ow the "t" key doesn't work everytime i press it so... anyways, yea, that big 8gig hd is so great, i can save my game on it 90000 times and i still have to carry it over to a friends or elsep ay the 30 bucks for a mem card. great!!@!@!

RAZOR ..Loks like you are trying to challenge me to a game of wits and you are obviuosly not prepared. I burn you each time you reply because you state the obviuos without really thinking of what youare really saying. Who is dumb enough to waste their hard drive to save a game "90000 times" when they can use a ....you guessed it...a MEMORY card from MICROSOFT or some aftermarket one and save it to that and carry the memory card ONLY to your friends house. You need to change the light bulb up top RAZOR as it is nearly dark up there. :devious: :idea: :idea: :idea:

One thing to remeber too Razor is that you have to BUY a memery card for the PS2 also or at least I did when I bought mine.
Another thing I like about the PS2 is the fully analog controllers.I'm not sure if X-Box has this or not but it is a welcome feature for driving games.

The hard drive is sweet. I copy all my music for custom in game sountracks. Just been playing that new game XIII a cell shaded shooter and it is awesome. I think this game is available for all consoles so be sure to check it out!

Well you know what. You should have BOTH systems. XBOX has great games like Halo, HALO 2 (in march of 2004), The 1st person shoots and some racing games are bad ass on the XBOX, I played Grand Turismo @ my girlfriends house against her brothers. Damn that game is badddddd ass. I wanted a PS2, I did a little research.

I found a chip. The Xecuter 2.1 Lite Plus, I opened my xbox. (VOIDS WARRANTY) I soldered in the chip, NOW it bypasses the system bios, and loads my personal bios. I run EvolutionX and Linux off my xbox, not tomention I do NOT need a dvd playback kit. PLaYS THE SAME AS AN STOCK XBOX. with a little extras, just a few extra menus to go through. I Upgraded my hard drive to 120gb HD, the limit on the system is 135gb, but 120gb does just fine.

WELL to make a long story short, my xbox now is like a reg computer. When I turn it on I starts up an FTP server with it own IP addy. I can connect it to my comp through my HUB, and I upload to it. This means that I can litterally do anything with it. I ripped Grand Turismo to my comp. I found a ps2 emulator for xbox, loaded it on. I started up my xbox ran the ps2 emulator and then selected Grand Turismo. IT RAN JUST FINE! I can run any ps2 game on my xbox, as long as I have it on there. the games only run about 7 gigs each. I am currently looking for GameCube rips and an emulator.

The chip costs about $35 you have to have damn good soldering. It was my 1st soldering job, so I had to use some silicon on the board to make sure the wires dont move and come off the board.

I can still Play xbox live. (ON/OFF) switch for the chip, if microsoft catches the chip it banns your boxes IP forever. My chip has 2 512k banks, one for Everything and the other runs just linux. Right now I am working on making a keyboard work on the xbox.

my xbox was one of the 1st gen xboxs, you can tell by the setup of the motherboard. I only had a 5 gb hardrive in mine so i decided to upgrade

You know I do have 2 systems, just the Xbox and Gamecube. I could have all but do I have time to even play all the games I have? I have over $1300 in games alone and I got to set a limit somewhere. If I get a PS2 I would be screwed. For poop's sake I got a RC habbit isn't that bad enough?

when I got my RC I lost the interest to play, but now that it is cold, and my rc is out of commision then I guess I have to play.....

Razor: It depends on the Generation of Xbox, I have a 1st gen xbox, there are 4 generations and they are going to change their info when they come out with a new one. The hard drive has only 1 folder, on the HD that does anything. The other 5 are for chache. It sux cuz the 1 folder is partitined to have only like a gig.

I had to dig this thread up because I was shopping at Target with my almost-8-year-old, and I saw that prices have dropped on xbox and ps2. Is that because something new is about to come out? There is a thread in GC about the ps3, but I think it is a joke.

Candyman, what did you go with? And now, 6 months later, have enough games come out for xbox to make it an easier choice? I have played halo at a friends house so I am leaning towards the xbox for its superior power and graphics. But I don't want to buy anything now if some ultimate player is about to come out.

If i was you i wouldnt wast your money on some system that gets old in a year and no one plays it. Get your kids something cool that will last longer than a year.

imo xbox all the wat have you tryed it.rainbow six,pg2,splinter cell 2. xboxs grapics are way better than ps2...bigger hd.

Here is my 2 cents worth. I am a gaming junkie and have the Xbox, PS2 and the kids have the gamecube. I feel that the Xbox is the best of them all, they have a good game selection and there online game play is unmatched. The ps2 is ok I have it for a few different game titles that I can't get on the box, but for the most part I use the box. The kids have the cube and it works fine for them online play is mininal as is the ps2. The cube is more for the little ones. In the perfect world you would have one of each, but if you can't do that get the box. hope this helps.
