think it depends. I have friends that have called me crazy and dumb for spending $500 for my savage (before break down repairs and hop-ups). Spending all of that money on their favorite gaming console is just like us spending it on a nitro or electric. Just my 2 cents

True But i think that what people think is stupid is that if you buy one now it is pretty expensive. But in a few months it will drop in price AND that people are forking over thousands of dollars for one on ebay.And RC's dont drop in price like that.

I guess to some people money just isnt an issue when they really want something :shrug:. Must be nice, but even if I had the money it just dont make sense to pay $900 just so you can have it in a week or two when you can wait a couple months or less and get one that the local best buy for $350 which to me is still really steep.

I know of a few people on these boards shelling out close to a grand for the new HPI Buggy, and I have seen the price of some of the NIB Buggs/truggies... IMO you would have to be crazy to dump that kind of money when if you think about it you could build the exact smae thing cheaper (as all the manufacturers haev proven time and time again)

Are these people still crazy? hell yes. A grand for a new game system is ludacris in every aspect. But so is paying the same ammount for a Graphite Chasis for your Savage. (I know, stupid anology, but you get the point)

I just talked to my buddy today since we waited in line to get his Box, and he said hes having major problems with it. Said he can play Quake for about 5 minutes TOPS, and it just freezes and makes weird sounds. He said it wont even play a Dvd. He had been calling the Xbox hotline he said for 2 days straight, like every 5 minutes and it was always busy. Then I guess late last night (Like 4 am) he finally got threw and was on hold for over a hour. He has to send it in, and they'll fix it (I guess the harddrives are burning out) but he has to pay shipping there and back. He has to send it there with $31 for shipping!! Little steep huh?) The turn around is 3 to 6 weeks too! Hes pretty pissed. The store he got it from had a 36 hour return policy on them, so its a poopy deal.

It has always been the samn thing with the damn game coporations. They get too busy trying to compete with each other that in the end the actual consumer ends up getting the shaft. there have allready been three reported house fires due to the plugs on the X-Box 360... call me crazy, but didn't they have the same damn problem with the last POS Entertainment system they released, the X-Box?!

Sony just realeased the lateset versoin of SOCOM, and it was also a crap game. Along with NFSMW it it just too resource consuming for the platform. They get too busy trying to get cash from anywhere they can that the product goes to crap. I still have the very first game system I ever got- An Atari along with hundreds of games. never once has it given me a problem. Alongside my Nintendo, Super Nintendo and Sega Genisis they are comparably the sturdiest equipment I have ever owned. Granted the "new fangeled" crap is one a higher and completely diffirent level they should still deliver that consistency with all thier new releases.

Sony took the chance- they delayed thier release until AFTER the holidays... a whole year after. Ya, some kids are going to have to deal with thier Playstation 2's until 2006, but I promise Sony will deliver a better overall experiance than Microsoft. These people will never realize these things are trial and error. Microsoft, IMO has a very long track record of being the elitist crap of the pile. Thats why I took the advantage of someone with less inteligence and sold mine NIB for double retail. I admit it, if they are stupid enough to pay it out, take em' for it

Nice Tweak... What is the point of getting a system right when it comes out? Its completely obvious that there will be problems and the company will make you go through hell to get it fixed (just like your friend 4u). The same thing has happened for years and people arent seeing a pattern. I will get 360 or PS3 sooner or later, but I want to be sure that all/most of the problems are fixed so I dont have to do all that poop and return it or fix it or pay more money then I have to, when I could wait a couple months for a much better system and be "playing it" instead of "paying it."

You know.. I guess it is a good place to rant a bit.

I bought a brand new "Fossil" watch recently. 75 bucks from a place called Buckle in the mall. I figured, it must be a good watch, durable... good materials. for 75 bucks it should play girlfriend or something. I get it home, wear it for a day and it just falls apart. Nothing like I stuck my hand in a mulcher or anything. didn't hit it on anything. It just straight falls apart. I call Fossil that day to see about getting a new one or getting it fixed. I find out it is a "new" model and just like with te X-Box 360, it's gonna cost THIRTY yes, thirty dolars to ship it to them, seven weeks turnaround. Since it is so new they don't even supply or stock parts for it, they have to machine them somewhere then have them shipped. Since when did everything we consumers buy go to comlete crap? charging higher prices for people with a lower standard. it just pisses me off about the way things are running nowadays.

Ok, I am done craping on this thread. sorry to go off topic, but I needed to vent on someone besides the chick from fossil with the cute voice. (You ust KNOW she was a hottie)

The store was Circuit City. And the thing that is jacked about the whole thing, is there normal store policy is 30 days, for defective items. But a new rule came into play at the beginning of the month ONLY for gaming systems, that rules it to 36 hours. After that, they have to be settled with the manufactor. Which is absolutley retarded. How do they figure this will work for Xmas gifts? Stupid. My friend was cool about it with them too. What he wanted was for them to exchange it for one of the next ones to come in. But I guess some of the blame is for him too. He sould have went back to the store instead of wasting the time trying to call Microsoft. I think he was hoping it was a quick fix or something he could manage. Its totally stupid though thats for sure. A major company puts out a bunk system is just worng these days period. Its like Ford putting out a vehicle that doesn't run. Ridiculous.

Tweak, did ya get that Fossil watch with the digital face that ya can get weather, stock quotes and the news and stuff on? If so, that watch looked awesome. I almost bought it off the shopping channel..lol.. (Was channel surfin and saw a watch with the net, of course I gotta finish watching it..lol)

What I really find asinine is that in all reality, those who have allready recieved an X-box will be about the only ones to actually get the damn thing before the holidays roll around. Microsoft has allready released a statement signifying they are not going to ship any more than what was originally alloted: so many per store until the "rush" cooled down, keeping true to the wishes to keep everywhere just about status quo on recieving the unit. The other day I was reading something that Microsoft is actually loosing money by even producing these units, as the parts are no longer an in house procces, but outsourced to overseas venues... Kinda makes me wonder about exaclty who prone to malfunctions they really are. microsoft has started outsourcing more and more applications overseas and IMO have seen a steady downfall of quality.

The watch was a digtal face one, with the dial hands. It didn't tick stocks or anything, but did have a cool "asteroid" back ground and flashed some other stuff like time zones, diffrent colors and such. The part that broke is unfortunately the piece that binds the band to the watch casing itself, and not user servicable. I am just gonna get a new watch, it makes sense in my book.

Does anyone remember the first generation x-box? the damn dvd drives would crap out after about an hour of gaming..... I'm not touching this one until I can buy one off of somebody dirt cheap.
