Unfortunately, by design, the front of the NTC3 has that one weak point. Where the shock towers mount to the top of the diff cases is vaulnerable. When a direct hit (or murphy's law) happens, the shock tower will shift and rip the top of the diffcase off or crack it at the mounting points.olds97_lss said:Is "the fix" too hard to explain? I'm curious what it is...
When I was still racing my NTC3, it went a whole season without breaking the front end. In the second year, I just tapped a board and broke the diff case. I have broken the front on more than one occasion in the same day in a variety of situations, all during racing.
The "fix" was a Godsend but unfortunately it's hard to find these days. A few have made due with the long screws and 1/8 shock standoffs. I'll see if I can find it and post once found. If you have a lathe or a mini table lathe, it can be done. Unfortunately, most do not so standoff's are more accessable.
