Looking for something to use with my Badger 350 as opposed to the air cans. I would like to have 50psi max pressure if possible. Let me know what you have, just looking to save a few bucks off a new one.

Do a search on some of the major brand names, and the ones carried by Home Depot or Lowes, even Kmart. Those 3 will already have the ones with attached tanks, something you'll need to add to a smaller one to get a smooth air flow without the puffing.
Check out Campbell Hausfeld, DeVilbiss, Paasche, or just a general search on hobby or airbrush compressors.

Yeah, I was thinking about buying a new Campbell Hausfeld, but I figured I would throw this out there in case someone has one they aren't using.

I have a huge compressor in the shop that I've used before with automotive and hobby airbrushing in the past but it doesn't exactly go with the decor in the house according to the misses. :)

Actually come to think of it, I bought one already a few years ago and forgot that I left it on the houseboat while nailing the new carpet spikes. So is there a special adapter that I can use to fit it to my airbrush? I'm thinking my last rig up wasn't too effective or safe. lol

do you need a 12VDC or 110VAC compressor....I have a 12VDC one I could part with cheap but you'd need a Power Supply to use it indoors.....I forget the brand but it's quiet and I used a separate tank to smooth out the air flow......not sure what shipping would be so I don't want to set a price til I know where it's shipping to.....PM info and we can talk....

I'm holding off on this right now, dad is checking to see if I left my other compressor on the houseboat. I will let you know if he doesn't find it or it was stolen. We have had a lot of theives breaking in our warehouse lately.

sounds like you need to do some warehouse campouts and shoot the deer that are nibbling your crops ..... thieving scumbags deserve to die....

They were after some copper that was in a stash of ac units that were there. They actually had the nerve to come in broad daylight while we were working on our boat...we just assumed it was their stuff because they smiled, said hello, etc...Since they got everything we haven't heard anything...but since they knew how to get in they'd probably come back for whatever caught their eye. The sheriff down there likes our boat anyway, and almost always stops when we have a bay door open while working. He comes in, talks to us, and looks around. He wasn't too happy with the theives either, I think he has a wooden cruiser boat in there. It's a large warehouse.

We just had the earthquake so dad wanted to go check to be sure the barrels didn't shift. We have been restoring this boat about half my life so we keep all the tools we use locked inside. It's almost done, probably hitting the water spring of next year or fall this year if we get everything done with the hull. :)

Ridiculous! Doesn't she know that having a Dining room compressor is the latest trend?
I have 3 different sized compressors, and can run my airbrush on all of them. You can get adapters from anything to anything, between auto stores, hobby shops and plumbing supplies.

You mentioned the wife, you know you could get a silent compressor. My uncle has a paintbooth in the house because he does scale military modeling. He's serious, he takes em outside, through the mud, shoots em with bb guns, the works. He was keeping his wife up at night, so he got a silent compressor. I couldn't believe how quiet it was. I don't know what it costs, but it would probably be worth it to not be bitched at all day long about how you kept your lil angel up all night.

Florence? Heck fire, son! I'm just about 30 minutes from you! I may have a small compressor that'll fit your needs, shoot me a PM with your number and we can see if it's what you are looking for.

Anybody got links for a silent wife? =devil

Serious, what does a silent compressor cost? Got some links?
I have a 30 gallon Craftsman but it is noisy as hell.

I have one. The're sort of expensive for what they are.. definitly only suited for airbrushing cuz it can't maintain more than 15 psi with my airbrush equipped with a large tip. I rarely ever use a large tip though. Most of my work is with medium and fine in which it can maintain a more respectable pressure. I can't really remember how much it was.. probably around $100 or so. I wish I had a standard compressor sometimes although most of my painting is done at midnight so this actually works very well for me.

I have this except mine isn't under the Badger Thayer & Chandler nameplate. I don't recall what brand mine is, I think it's just rebadged and sold as generick possibly. I also don't think I paid that much... but I've had it for a few years and honestly can't remember. At any rate, mine looks EXACTLY like that one.

sorry for the hijack.

I still had my Campbell Hausfeld twin tank with the plastic bag over it sitting on the boat, so I ordered a connector from Harbor Freight. The silent air sounds like a good idea, but for what little painting I do I should be fine with this unit.
