So I was driving my car down the street, some neighbors yelled at me for it being to loud and stuff. I still kept running it. So now, a neighbor tries to "pretend" to back up into my car. He almost did. Then another neighbor came backed up out of their driveway, they were safe though. They backed out slowly to make sure they didn't run it over. So my lesson is learned. I'll just go to the park :D. Too bad my neighbors don't have nitro cars, or kids to play with.

Screw the neighbors. If they can mow there lawn at 9 a.m. on a Saturday for a hour, then they can put up with an r/c for a little while.

...and that's all I have to say about that.

Well my neighbors are rich. While I'm doing my RCing I see a gardener go to their house and do all the stuff. It's pretty noisy though.

Well then tell them that if they can pay a gardener to make noises for them then you can make your noises for free :thefinger

lol

I do my best to be aware of everyone, including the time I'm running my nitro. I run it at our apartment complex in the field behind our garages. No one really complains, or even has issues if I run them in the parking lots either. I keep an eye out for traffic but most everyone makes sure I see them before they drive past, they actually like the cars.

If someone intentionally backed over my r/c...I might accidentally discharge my .45, but that's just me. :)

Show a little courtesy to your neighbors. Only run in the middle of the night when you know it won't bother them.

Exactly, my neighbors get mad also, but I don't care. I'm bigger than them! LOL Anyways, like Lessen said, my neighbors are doing weedeating at 7:00AM, so I run my car all day.

id go with rolex if there asleep it shouldnt bother them

It would be a good time to run the ribbed pipe if you have the Savage since no one is around to complain about the noise :D

the same thing happened 5 or 6 months ago(came and complained) So got pissed off and went on there lawn and thore it really bad, but then theyy called the cops...that day was a real piss off.:constipat

I agree. They can't hear it if they're sleeping.

On a serious not. I NEVER run my nitros before 10 a.m., even on the weekends. After that, it's fair game IMO.

i got neighbors all around me and i'm suprised they haven't complained i'm goin to get out real early this weekend and piss them all off. wish me luck

They can be quite loud, however if you use a little common courtesy and not run real early, or late at night than they really should have nothing to complain about.

My SS with the ribbed pipe is exceptionally loud, so I try to be courteous of the neighbors, and I have never had a problem.

Then you deserve what you get. It's that type of attitude that causes the problems in the first place. I'll be the first one to post LOL after you post how your pissed off neighbor ran over your rc because you woke his newborn up at the crack of dawn.

Your neighbors can't do anything to you except call the police. So basically, unless you're running a baja or something, I think that you should be able to run it and it not be considered disturbing the peace as long as it is during reasonable hours. They may could cite you for excessive noise, but they would have to be able to prove that it was over the legal limit (is it 95 decibals in cali?) and you can usually win that one in court. My neighbors used to bitch about my go cart when I was young, so I would get on my 4 wheeler, and tie a shopping cart to it, turn it on its side, and drive up and down the street for about an hour and midnight. They quit bitching about the go cart pretty fast.

I could come run my baja up and down the street, then when they bitch I'll tune my 10 second drag car with the headers open with it parked under the garage where it will really echo.

If you have any more problems with the neighbors, let me know cuz I'm always looking for people to really torture in excruciatingly painful ways while they are on their way to a slow but horrific death ;)

On a serious note, if someone woke me up at 6 in the morning tuning a nitro, they would be on the receiving end of the torture mentioned above, so always be courteous of the time of say and situation that you are in

I live outside the city limits so there is no noise laws. And if my nieghbor can crank his hardley (harley) at 7 am on the weekend, then I can run my nitros at 2:30 am like I did on Saturday. :)

I also live out in the sticks but we do have a cranky neighbor who called the cops on my son because he was running his dirt bike up and down the road, in the middle of the day. We had quite the party that weekend with 4 of my son's friends from NETRA racing around my yard all day. (hell, I almost called the cops.)
Be courtious...if that doesn't work, screw em.
My son knows not to argue with adults. Just agree and leave. Tell me, I'll decide whats appropriate.
Never argue with a fool, people might not be able to tell the difference.
GHM

My next door neighbor is a total PITA...she will not even talk to me now. If I see her outside I will say hello and she will just turn a walk away. She tried to send her husband to come bitch at me for making too much noise and he just told her to come tell me herself. So she called the cops on me. They showed up and I let them play with on of my Savages...and that was the end of it. She saw that happen and now she TOTALLY hates my guts.....heh heh heh. Joke 'em if they can't take a f#$k

Guess I'm kind of lucky, we have half acre to one acre lots here. My neighbors are all good people, and most are interested enough to come out and watch Nate and I for a few minutes when we start them up. One guy two doors down came over with a gallon of nitro and gave it to my son, was a left over from his time in the hobby. He's thinking of getting back into again now.

I've asked all my neighbors when they came out if we were making too much noise and none of them had any problems with it. I just make sure we run at decent times of the day and try to stay away from running too close to their homes.

A little coutesy goes a long way.

Now that's the right attitude! :goodpost:
