My next door neighbor is a total PITA...she will not even talk to me now. If I see her outside I will say hello and she will just turn a walk away. She tried to send her husband to come bitch at me for making too much noise and he just told her to come tell me herself. So she called the cops on me. They showed up and I let them play with on of my Savages...and that was the end of it. She saw that happen and now she TOTALLY hates my guts.....heh heh heh. Joke 'em if they can't take a f#$k

Nice. :bowned:

I never have any problems with my neighbors, and I try not to run after it gets dark or before 10am. Then again, I don't usually wake up until then so it's all good :D In fact, most of my neighbors usually are pretty interested in it. When I went down to the pond the other day I had a crowd standing up around the rim.

BTW someone was blowing their driveway yesterday with a gas blower at 6am when I was walking to the bus stop. :wtf:

Well, I will say this. use common sense!!! Just because you may have one gut next door that starts his lawnmower at 6AM, dosent mean you can do the same thing with your nitro! Remember how pissed you are at him? ALL your other neighbors will feel the same about you.

The guy that does it in his yard is one thing, he doesn't go up and down the street with his lawn mower like you may with your RC.

Yep, I don't start running mine until like 1 or 2 pm. Same with my stereo in my car, I don't crank it up until after noon.

I don't exactly live in a subdivision. Everyone around me is on a minimium 2 acre lot and most of the houses are 400-600ft off the road. A harley with aftermarket pipes is much louder than any nitro I have. If he was reving it in the street it would I would not hear it nearly like I do when he right across the driveway. the only reason early morning noises even bother me is because I work nights so that is genrally when I am sleeping.

I can run my nitros at 2:30 am like I did on Saturday. :)

So, it's ok for you to bother people sleeping at night, but it's not ok for them to bother you during the day because you work nights?

man try living in a 55+ HOA community. sucks big time

I live in a 254 home HOA and have never had an issue, but then again, my goal (as opposed to several who have posted) is not to piss my neighbors off by running my rigs too early or too late. Fact is, I was running my Savage one afternoon awhile back and my neighbor's kids were out skateboarding on their ramp. They saw me, saw the Savage and asked if I'd launch it off their ramp. Now, who am I to say no to a child's wish, right? First couple times, no problem. Third time, I launch it right into my neighbor's mailbox and flat destroyed that sucker! I immediately went to the door, talked to my neighbor (the kids father) then went to Lowes, bought a new mailbox then stopped and grabbed a six-pack. I installed the new mailbox, kicked a couple cold ones back with my neighbor then he asked if he could try the Savage. We ended up running about four more tanks through that thing, sharing a few cold ones and laughing about the carnage of his mailbox. Needless to say, the Savage was unscathed and I got to know my neighbor a lot better.

Additionally, I own a Harley (not hardley) Fatboy with Vance & Hines longshots that are wicked, wicked loud. Again, common sense and an aptitude for not trying to piss my neighbors off prevails.

If you are one that likes to needle your neighbors by running your rigs when you know it's too early or too late, when that neighbor "accidentally" smashed the ever-loving poop out of them, be sure to go somewhere else to cry about it, because you'll get no sympathy here!

The moral: treat your neighbors with the same respect you wish to be treated.

One thing I've learned in life is that small signs of respect for others goes a long way. You would be amazed how much better the neighbors will accept your nitro running through the neighborhood if you make it a point BEFOREHAND to go around to a few of them and let them know what you are doing and that you do not want to bother them. Once they see that you are a polite, well-spoken individual and not a trashy neighborhood mongrel, it's a lot more likely that they will tolerate your hobby rather than assuming that you are up to no good, getting mad, or calling the police. You will have a lot more fun with your RC in an area where you are accepted than somewhere that people are throing stuff at you, yelling, and you have to hide inside everytime a police car shows up.

luke 6: 27-31

This is what I say to all who will listen to me:

Love your enemies, and be good to everyone who hates you. Ask God to bless anyone who curses you, and pray for everyone who is cruel to you. If someone slaps you on one cheek, don't stop that person from slapping you on the other cheek. If someone wants to take your coat, don't try to keep back your shirt. Give to everyone who asks and don't ask people to return what they have taken from you. Treat others just as you want to be treated.

Now it has become vandalism and destruction of private property. So you resorted to crime because someone did not like your toy truck , and pissed you off? 'that's just the way I am", is that an excuse or a reason for destroying something someone worked hard on, to make their home nice? That has to be one of the most selfish self centered things I have ever heard while in this hobby. I hope you are proud of yourself. If you pulled that poop in my yard your toy truck would be in the same shape as my garden, this I promise you.

I have to agree with the sentiment of treating others as you wish to be treated. I also try to run my Trucks and buggies at reasonable hour. Like others have said I don't run the nitros or the Baja before 9 am. The electrics are fair game anytime.

Hmm, they probably weren't doing it intentionally, but I did drive my car around and they did notice it, but they kind of backed out fast and almost him my car, it was probably an accident. But yeah, I do treat my neighbors with respect :D.

Not trying to bash anyone here, but being a hothead or starting flame wars won't settle anything. I know from experience, I can certainly be a hothead at times also. So lets put our tongues and attitudes aside, let's make some friends, and lets enjoy the hobby for what it is. And if someone rubs you wrong, try to remeber the old saying, "Kill'em with kindness"... Sometimes it's easier said than done, but it works. It'll either get under their skin faster than if you insult them, or you'll make a friend.
And I'll say it again.. A little courtesy goes a long way.

This thread has taken a turn for the worse, and will now be locked. We do not advocate causing damage to someones property because they do not like our hobby, or said something to piss you off.

Ya'll might want to check with your local pd too, I know in many areas it is illegal to run our cars and trucks on city streets, and it is definately illegal to run it on someone elses property without their permission, that is trespassing, and if you cause damage, vandalism. So it is in your best interest to try and get along with your neighbors rather than challenge them.

As several members have stated, a little courtesy goes a long way.
