OK well I've used BT for years now since I've been RC'in but I've never raced untill the beggining of this year and was never really looking for race performance. But to day and the last few times I've been to the track my buggy hasnt been too good it been stalling and cutting out and I've never had the greatest temps with BT they were ok but a little high for my likings. So i said screw it and went for a gallon of Byrons and wow what a defference no more stalling idles REAL good I'm lovin the temps around 205-208 just how i like em' and maybe a lil higher I've i really openin here up. I like it so much more than BT too alls i can say is Byrons is my new fuel to use! I should have noticed there must have been somthing good about it cause thats what most racer here are using and shoulda got some but i hey i switched over a lil late LOL. I like it so much I'm not even gunna finish my half gal of BT i think I'm just gunna give it to someone at the track next time that looks like they might need it!

EDIT: Oh and i almost forgot the best part it smells OH SO GOOD compared to BT LOL

You can use the BT to clean parts with, such as the air filter. Glad to see switching fuels helped you out. Getting good fuel after running w/ mediocre fuel is like going from night to day.

I ran into the same problem w/ fuels. I tried Sidewinder and got crappy results. A friend tried Wildcat and his truck ran like garbage. All I will use now is O'donnell, however, I just purchased some Trinity Platinum that I am dying to try out.

Later....

I first started out using Trinity Monster HP and liked it. I then went on to use O'donnel's. It was nice for a break-in fuel but after retuning, I didn't like the smell and yellow residue it left. Also didn't see much performance gain, as advertised by many users. I then switched to Byron's Racing fuel (20%) and absolutely loved it!

It gives nice temps (same needle settings from when I retuned using O'donnel's) and actually had to lean it out more to get up to a more consistant operating temp. Byron's tends to burn cleaner and not too much of a funky residue or smell.I'm just glad my LHS carries it since it tends to be a harder fuel to find.

How much do you pay for your Byron's? I get mine below $20 from my LHS with a "frequent buyer discount."

Diver, if you say it's that much better than O"Donnells, bring me out a gallon next week, if you can. I used Traxxas first and then tried trinnity, much better. Then tried O"Donell's and my Savage loves the stuff. You missed it last week but the Savage was doing oh so well. The one thing I did not like about the O'Donells is that it seems to leave more oily reside all over everything compared to Trinity.

I get it for $30 but i dont have a spiffy "frequent buyer discouint" LOL dam do i wish i had one of them!

i use o byrons but i just got into nitro this year i been into eletric 8 years curtis

If you show up tomorrow, you can try some of mine. We'll have to get your engine used to it by idleing a tank through then retune for the fuel. I will definitely get you a gallon for next week Can't do it tomorrow since the LHS is closed on sundays. I know that Bruckner carries it but at about $28.

BTW, I use 20%. Is that what you want?

All the familiar patrons get a discount at my LHS but my brother and I get an even better discount than most since our LHS also sponsors us to race and fly their colors. I think the regular price is $22.50 for 20% nitro.

I am pretty damn happy with traxxas there tom! lol traxxas fuel is very good me and few people run that constantly but some people just dont give it a chance i think it keeps engine running just right with perfect amount of oils! its just the tuning you need to tune it a lil more then other fuels but last time i race which was oct 3 i used my mt2 with a t15 that has over 5 gallons through it and ran 20% TRAXXAAS for over 5 hours had not one problem

I say screw the rest go with the best byrons!!!!
I've been running byrons for years and have never had and tuning problems or heat issues. except for 3 pos 2.5 traxxas mills

i paid $15.99 per gallon 20% / byrons 2000 formula, 12% lubricant

i pay almost 2x that for trinity platinum, i can't get byrons here. consider yourself lucky.

well here in the UK, land of taxable tax and 2 jags, we pay £26 for a gallon of BT, thats like $47. You all need to count yourselves lucky!!

whatdaya expect when ya live on an island. lets find someone from hawaii and ask what they pay?

I've used Byron's for the past few years. I hesitated at first because it didn't really get the recognition that BT or O'Donnell's had. But it works awesome! And it's really affordable. I think I pay $20 a gallon at my LHS. I'm running the 25% now and it's working great. No need to try anything else if you ask me!
