RC Driving Style
Heyall, I'm working on a new lid for a friend, thought I would share:

Sharpie artwork on the outside, 4 coats Dively's on the inside. The Lola didn't have any headlights, so I thought I would draw some on.......

I only have the flames done so far, but I took a crazy picture of him (the owner/driver) and XXX-Picture Glued his face to the inside of the goggles!! Should be good for a hoot at the track..............

I'll post a finished pic of the ride within the week.

paint looks good, but I think you should change your hacksaw blade...it's getting dull.....and did candyman give you the idea for the face pic???

Did CM do that too? I didn't see his. I can't take too much credit for the body trimming. Owner fit it to his R40, then gave it to me. I just smoothed it with a dremel drum wheel and sandpaper. He said he had to cut the holes in the front to lower it over his shock-towers.

Aight, Heres the finished job. Colors used.......

FasWhite (headlights)
FasBlack
Fasescent Yellow
Fasflourescent Orange
Faspearl Silver
SpazStix Chrome (rollbar)
FasTint (shading)
Pactra Sprint White (front/sides and sealing last coats)
Sharpend hacksaw blade

First time I tried painting on headlights. I think it worked ok.

Also, first time I tried doing a flame inside a flame. Interesting.
Who wouldn't have a worried look on their face with flames all around?

I don't know what possessed me during the design stage to give it gills <G>.
And thats right, I painted my hand white.....

The FasTint used for shading was decent, but wasn't thin enough,
giving me problems trying to spray light through a small tip w/low air pressure.....

Thanks for looking :hi:

looks good, I like the gills. I think he headlights turned out really nice as did the flames within the flames. I don't particular care for the overall shape of the flames but that's just my opinion. :2cents: Good work!

Shark on fire. hehe. I guess that was, what I was thinking <G>.

The following picture is one that my friend sent me that he liked. And its where I got the idea to do mine. But like we were talking about in RatzoRC's thread, there can be differences from "idea" to "concept" . In my case, a big difference from touring car to Lola, and a very very big difference in the flames as well. I tried to do shorter, thicker flames like these, but it just didn't work out. Anyway, here's where I got my "idea" from...............

ahh. I see what you were doin now. that's pretty cool there. kind of halfway between realistic flames and animated flames.
