the same thing happened to me and it turned out to be that i hadnt tightened the glow plug enough and the idle was set too low. so try doing that.

You should have a LSN to adjust. It's in the end of the throttle slide. I have yet to see a 21+ sized engine that didn't have one.
I threw an image together labeling all the screws on a typical engine. This is an LRP28 Spec 3 engine/carb. Some engines have a "mid speed needle" that this one does not have, but they are usually located where I suggested on the photo.
I don't have a rotary carb engine laying around, but they are a bit different usually. I think yours is a slide carb like this one, so it should be pretty close.
The only engine I've ever seen that has the LSN in a different place is the OS21RG. It has it in the place where most other engines have the MSN. Not sure why OS did that.
The only engine I've seen that did not have a LSN at all but had a HSN only was an older HPI NitroStar 15FE. It had only the HSN and it was called the "mixture needle". Really sucked to tune.
Since your picking up a temp gauge, may not be a bad idea to pick up a hot plug as well. OS A3 is a decent hot plug. The OS #8 is a typical medium hot that works for many engines with varying fuels. I run the McCoy MC-8 plugs, they are medium heat and seem to run well with big block engines with 20-25% nitro fuel.
