my savage was running fine before the winter perfectly, and i took it apart yesterday and made sure the carb was clean. when i tried to start it today. it wouldnt start, i checked the glow plug and everything seemed fine. the gas is spitting out the exhaust so its obviously making it through the engine. i drained the whole roto start battery trying to get it going. the temperature is around -2 degrees Celsius outside. Anyone have any ideas as to what is wrong????

Might just be too cold! Did you try and heat it with a hair dryer?

nope never tried that, but yesterday when i was trying to start it, it was -8 degrees celsius and would start for a second then cut out again, this kept up for about 5 minutes before i gave up because i was too cold

alright guess I'm waiting till spring, i hate living up north for this reason. what do you think is the minimum temperature that a nitro engine should be able to operate correctly in without wrapping the engine head?

looks like I'm gonna be waiting a while to run my truck, we wont get those temperatures here until at least early may if we're lucky :(

Tried the hair dryer trick today and used a brand new battery for the glow plug, got it going in a few minutes. Thanks for the help!!
