So I was running my 2.5 with black trans. When it quit moving but was still running so I began to tear it down and got to the trans. Tore or apart and found a broken pin in the case. Finished tearing our down and found its a set pin for one of the gears. it goes in the bottom of the two speed is this a normal problem

Yeah it happens occasionally. If your spur gear tightened fully, maybe back it off a smidge (counter clockwise)
Since your tranny is already disassembled, this is a great opportunity to install a FOC (forward only Conversion).
That is unless you really depend on reverse. Personally, I think it's more hassle than its worth.

I forgot to mention that I had put all 12 pegs in the spur gear. I got a new pin that is a little larger than stock. Just had to drill the hole a size larger in the two speed shaft. Hopefully it will make it last longer.
