man i am not having good luck...i was working on my derby car...i slipped with the drill and cut my finger on a piece of metal, well it cut through the nail and skin and ended up breaking the bone on the tip of my finger....

these are before the hospital, used the camera phone, can't see real well...

after hospital

so now i can't work, mess around withthe rc, play games, type with 2 hands, i can't even write because i am left handed....i guess its just not my summer....

all in all, i just wanted people to be extra cautious because you dont think these things can happen to you, but it does I'm proof....in the last week, i had a car fall on me, and wreck my finger pretty bad, so just please take proper safety cautions at all times

Bad luck seems to go in phases for me too, but maybe mine wasn't as bad as yours. Hope the finger heals quickly, I know with your hobbies it's going to be a really boring month. Maybe after this your luck will turn around.

yeah no luck as of late, the story with the car falling is as follows,

i was cutting the exhaust and had about through...but couldnt get it from the driers side, (true duals)...i had a jack under it,in the middle, then a friend put a jack on the passenger side and jacked higher, so i moed the middle jack to grab the exhaust ...just hangin there....and my friend was on the passenger side and his friend,...they ended up leaning on it for some reason, and tipped it oer on me...it didnt get me too bad, it fell on my shoulder and lower back, but i was still able to crawl out, i woke up with a sore back, so i was pretty lucky since a guy i know died from a car falling on him,

this has just been a real waking moment, especially when i walk into the garage...I'm definately going to change some living habits....

i hope none of you guys go through any of this....it isnt much fun

Dude sorry to hear about your finger....I can relate, I was working on my rail and i got mad and said i better stop now before i do something stupid...I started cleaning up my mess and got almost done...I went to put the brand new 1/2" drill bit away that i had used and it would not go into the case i looked at it and seen it had a bur... bench grinder there....hmmm... turned it on and just barely hit the bit...well it ripped it right outta my right hand...did i mention I'm right handed....I looked down and seen my finger and seen a HUGE cut and felt alot of pain....grabbed a towel to soak up the blood and looked around there was Blood everywhere...it looked like something you would see on CSI...needless to say i should have had stiches but I'm hard headed and didnt and my wife was pissed when she got home...

i know how you feel..i had a blood trail on the new carpet...i knew i should be stopping cus the metal i cut myself on was too close for comfort, but i just wanted to get the final screw in...always listen to your concious

i have jackstands...but my dumb friend was using them...i normally use them because a someoneone managed to hit the car on jackstands....so i went and boght a nice set of 6 ton stands....but it still doesn't matter what others do...I'm definately goin to be more cautious and careful in everyday living

Sounds like something my friend did. He was working on putting underglow on his car. They jscked it up about 8 inchs so they could work better. His helper closed the door and the guy under the car leaned out and put his hand right under the tire and you can only guess what happened... Broke two fingers... Hope yall get better...!

Sorry dude, hope it heals fast! I know that it sucks to have your hands torn up. If I do something like that it is usualy much worse. A few broken arms, 3, I know we only have 2 arms, left arm twice. A leg or so, a steel plate in jaw and you know, all the good stuff. It usually happens to me during the hot time of the year and really sucks. Hope you feel better soon man.
