Just seeing the Aircraft carrier made me think of Skymaxx.

LMFAO...too bad that is not my handywork. The sentiment is real enough...

It's classified! But we all know sky was in on it. :)

LOL...I'd love to claim picture taking rights, but the aircraft on that deck are parked for non-flying operations. Besides, each E-2C squadron has four aircraft; on occasion a squadron might pick up a fifth for a short while...BUT count the round domes mounted on aircraft and you can see that there are three parked on the roof...the fourth is almost always parked in the hangardeck due to lack of space on the roof. That's probably more than you cared to hear about...but it is true.

Being a betting man, that shot (at least the non-photo shopped version) was most likely taken by a C-2A aircraft as it flew over or some other aircraft.

As funny as I find this pic I gotta say this...we are not fighting Iraq....we took over and are pretty much welcomed by the average Iraqi citizen, we have given a nation that was ruled by terror and opression a new start....the few that remain loyal to the old regime are causing many problems but should not be used as a guage for the entire country's populus and their ideas.......I would be very ashamed if this were a real photo.....it would just be feeding the ideas of the people we ARE trying to eliminate.....that being said.....It shoul have said fiddlesticks Bin Laden......I still hope we can find even his dead corpse......for someone who claims to be a warrior and a freedom fighter he's nothing but chicken poop to me......

Plaid, i dont think there were enough people on board to make "fiddlesticks bin laden"

I'm sure that pic was photo chopped anyway.....I can appreciate the humor....if that was real I'd be very dissapointed in our military for that......if we were there for the sole purpose of conquest and aquiring empire territories then hell yeah fiddlesticks em....but we are supposed to be there to help them not fiddlesticks them.....

One, the photo is edited.
Two, this is an old photo and came out when we WERE fighting Iraq.
Three, open-arms is relative. Insurgents are Iraqi...and they are not exactly welcoming.
Four, true on the empire building and the helping of the people...too bad not everyone sees things that way. Many, even in our own country, think we are there for some kind of personal gain vice putting an end to a tyrannical government built on the blood and terror of its own people.

As for the number of aircraft on the roof, that is about 2/3 the number of planes on the ship. There are quite a few more stashed in the hangardeck.

Damn that's only 2/3 of the total count, holy poop if i seen you navy boy's coming my ass would be running. GO MARINES!!!!

One, the photo is edited......I was guessing w/ a great amount of certainty it was

Two, this is an old photo and came out when we WERE fighting Iraq........OK then by all means fiddlesticks em.....

Three, open-arms is relative. Insurgents are Iraqi...and they are not exactly welcoming......I wouldn't sum up the insurgents as being the "average citizen"....my understanding from friends and family is there are very few (relatively speaking) causing problems for the many.....I have Iraqi native friends in NY and all I hear from them and their families is we should have done it sooner...all said and done the majority of the population is seeing that we are there to better them not keep them down

Four, true on the empire building and the helping of the people.......too bad not everyone sees things that way. Many, even in our own country, think we are there for some kind of personal gain vice putting an end to a tyrannical government built on the blood and terror of its own people.........I would like to see the proof in the pudding when it's all said and done before I start in on this comment.......I think we have good intentions as a whole, but pockets of greed infiltrate our beurocratic way of dealing w/ this situation...

I'm just clarifying my POV not contesting your statements......I am not a bleeding heart liberal but I would consider myself a liberal politically....not in the sense of the modern day party but rather the Thomas Paine "let's keep the gov out of my personal life" variety

No arguments intended. Just voicing what I know and how I see things.

I know we should have done something sooner. I also know that the majority of the Iraqi people are quite content to have the old regime removed. I also know that there are a great deal of people holding judgement until the dust settles and we have either claimed some materialistic prize or left without one. Personally, I am of the old school of thought where the spoils go to the victor. In other words, we should not walk away empty handed...and for the better part of the world, there should be no complaints. Granted that seems to be a bit harsh...but then again so is the viewpoint that we went into Iraq to get oil and decided to take down Sadaam and his regime as a cover.

i know a few of you are in the bay area right? well i am too and there were two iraquians(sp?) that were arrested in Lodi a few days ago for planning terrorist things over the past couple years. thats not the whole story but thats just to prove the point that they dont care a lot.

Umm I think you miss the point that a few bad ones can send a bad POV to ignorant people......well I guess because I grew up in an all black neighborhood and the 5 black kids that used to terrorize me then makes an entire race of black people bad then???? or because there were 2 american men found helping the taliban then we are all for the taliban???? your statement would be applicable to these same questions I just asked....but if you are content to be a sheep and just accept everything the media shoves in your brain then fine by me.....but your observation does not prove any point to me...
