started in rcs many years ago with blackfoot manual speed controller if that tells ya anything, ever since i saw a nitro rc i have wanted one got one second hand with problems and am now regretting it starting to get discouraged because i haven had much runtime at all and it is getting too expensive to continue without having any fun i do enjoy working on it but only if i get to have some fun too right now the carb is closed and it wants to run wide open???? ofna 9.5 violator with .32 engine

Well... either a bad air leak or really poor tune that is far too lean.

Are you sure it's not wide open when you have the engine running? Glitches can sometimes cause the servos to twitch.

maybe right on the air leak but i can't figure out where it coming from have sealed everything i could think of had it running a while ago sometimes it runs good with a lot of fuel coming out of exhaust have carb adjusted to 31/2 out on hsn and flush with lsn am wondering if it is the carb? :)

sealed carb, head, rear bottom of engine, may have to pull engine again and use the soapy water method can you do this without puling engine?

Check your fuel tank, fuel tank lid and fuel lines. On buggies, it's sometimes really easy to get a renegade fuel line rubbing on the flywheel. Which in that case usually faces away from you, so you never see it. Check your exhaust gasket that seals your header to your engine. Also, check your cooling head bolts. A loose one will give you really erratic running.

I'm sorry, but I can't be the only one thinking this, so I have to point it out. Joeshmoe, your post that started this thread has to be one of the all time great run on sentences I've ever seen. You really had to get all that off your chest, huh? Did you type that all with one breath?

still having fun

yes, Jim I feel much better now, I just had to tell someone. my wife just doesn't understand my addiction lol :D

OMG I still have my blackfoot. LOL

smoke, i still have my blackfoot and when i get this ofna going right i will put her back on the run, be thinking i will upgrade t electric speed controller as opposed to the old manual one that is on there-----

Just an update on whoever is interested, Having done all the trouble shooting i could think of, my carb is still closed when running wide open. I have found that I could adjust the lsn in much farther and slow down the rpms thinking that the lsn is not seating good in the carb. Couldnt find a lsn replacement i ordered the whole carb through e-bay for $14.00. awaiting arrival of carb. i will let yall know how it tunes out.
thanks for the help, youse guys have been extremely helpful in my learning experience.
