If it was a setup, I can't imagine landing on his hip bone was part of the plan.

We had a similar thing happen at the local hobby shop I worked at. A local sports-caster came out to do an on-location during race night's practice. He decided to squat down near the double jump while there were some RC10GT's taking a warmup lap... Well, a kid driving a GT took the jump a little wide, and the poor ol' sportscaster fell flat on his duff.
The people in the truck, as well as back at the station, were all laughing their heads off.

Sorry dudes, but I don't agree with you. The botched landing should take at least 3 points off the total. I will however limit it to 2, so it's a total of 8.0. Style is what saved him.

I'm staying with the 9.5. He maintained a good posture throughout the maneuver and only turned his arms and legs loose on the landing. Had he stayed down, keeping his entire body rigid after the impact, he would have gotten the perfect 10.

Id give it an 8.5, for a 10 he would have needed to have either landed it on his feet or, have gotten up straight away, shouted he was ok and walked off, dragging his leg.
