Windows 7

I have had Windows 7 installed at work now, testing for my company. We got it in our MS subscription, before it went public.

So far I must say I really enjoy it. As an Admin the new tools are insane. No more VNC or RDP to servers. Print servers and anything else you can think of can now be run right from your Win7 desktop with the Admin tools they offer. Right now the only problem I see with the Beta is I can not open users profiles in Active Directory.

The UAC has been change to be more user friendly. Better organization of the Control Panel. The way they organize your open windows in the taskbar is awesome IMO.

I also have Warhammer Online installed here at work to play on my down time (Love being an Admin) :) And the game plays flawless, I mean it is incredible how stable Win7 is for beta.

I have put in suggestion at my company to buy me a Win7 license as soon as they are available. I am very impressed with the Win7 OS.

Now IE 8 is a total piece of garbage. They had to create a compatibility tab for people to be able to see the favorite sites that are not compatible in IE 8, funny thing is Windows.com is on the list of not compatible with IE 8, go figure.

you guys with your "windows".. I fart in your general direction....lol

like toys... windows is weak in soooooo many ways.. just get a real OS!!! lol

LINUX TILL DEATH.

IMO Linux is great for server usage -- rock solid stable with no issues to really complain about. However I've tried a number of different flavors even as recently as about 6 months ago and I just don't feel it's ready for prime time.

While Linux has made HUGE improvements to making it "normal" end user ready I don't think it's still quite there and until more software vendors start making software for Linux I don't think it will be ready anytime soon.

Having to run emulators or hacks just so I can run Office 2007, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, or Call of Duty isn't my idea of fun.

I must say out of all the flavors I've tried, Ubuntu was by far my favorite.

snippster - Are you using 64 bit or 32bit Win7? I also agree with you on IE8, I like some of the new features but over all it isn't any better then IE7. I'll stick with Firefox.

I am using the 32bit. Just haven't seen the need to go 64bit yet.
