hi guys,

i was wondering about doing some crazy stuff with my nitro truck .

all i want to know is would pulling some other r/c cars with my nitro truck.

put a strain on my engine . beacuse i seen this video on the net before a buggy was pulling this 1/8 scale mt

i got a thundertiger ssk .15bxs pullstart engine

ps i aint gunna pull big massive things with my truck

thanks nf123

monkeywrench u fixed tha problem with my glitching thanks mate :)

Any kind of load puts a strain on an engine.
If your going to pull something more than the trucks own weight, it will strain the engine, drivetrain, and clutch.
If your just doing it for a few feet, I'd say go for it.
Long term, you'll ruin your truck.
Thats just my opinion.

Like Ratzo said... that distance one time probably will not do much damage at all.... however repeatedly.... that is a whole new ball game.

Gear down as low as you can go, run it as rich as you can stand, frequently check the engine temp for overheating. If you have a slipper clutch, you may want to lock it down and allow the engine clutch to do all the slipping, but have spare shoes on hand, they may overheat and melt.

I'm going to go against the grain here and say that the ruin of the engine is going to depend largely on what you are actually doing. Is this going to be buggy versus car, opposite directions, WOT, to see which one wins? If so, then a great deal of the strain is going to depend on the surface you run on, the tires you use, the gearing in place on either ride, the size of the engine, and how your clutch is set up.

Just like full size tractor pulls, you will find that the wear and tear on the RC is going to depend on your set up. If this is 1/8 scale MT versus an onroad racing car conducted on an offroad surface, I would worry more about the crap that the onroad vehicle is going to end up getting all over and inside it when the MT drags it around the yard.

If this is not tractor pull style and you simply want to tow the smaller RC, I wouldn't sweat the strain on the engine unless you are doing this through tall grass and the towed vehicle ways more than the MT.

Just my two cents, plus some...

If its on a smooth surface like tar, and whatever your pulling has wheels, youll be allright, but like Sky said, I wouldnt be going across the grass or anything. Gearing it down and all that would help but seems like alot of work to do just to pull a trailor.

I'm with skymaxx... think about how much strain you put on a 1/8 MT driving it through thick mud and over big rocky sections and stuff... the engines are plenty tough, the wear id say will most likely be on clutch shoes. but the weight of a race car on a trailer (or in neutral...) wont be a problem for it to handle.
