theres a reason every hobbyshop stocks Tmaxx parts vs Savage parts. People always break the Maxx
There's probably 100:1 ratio of T-Maxxs to Savages as well. I know when I first started, all I knew was Traxxas, thanks to the old school Revo vids that Traxxas put out (huge back flip, jumping off of a wall and a few others).

I cannot personally speak on the durability of the Tmaxx, but I do know the savage is one tough cookie, I've owned a few over the years, and was only disappointed in their electronics, and that damn k5.9. they have some issues, but not too much. half tank lean.. OWB issues, the slipper can be a pain if you dont know what you are doing.. but overall the savages have never done me wrong and theres a crap ton of hop ups. The only reason I like the LST2 and XXL better is their design. Much easier to work on, and better handling. the LST2 and XXL are the inbetween for revos and savages... they are more durable than a revo, but handle better than a savage. I got rid of my savages because I wanted something I could throw on the track pretty easily, and the LST2 was it for me.

Respectable answer Sur3. Having never owned a Savage (Yet) I have owned a LST and will say that Losi held true to its racing roots when they built it. Was a fun rig that was easy to wrench and typically drove like it was on rails. I found that the biggest issues I came across were servo and RX failures but a couple of upgrades solved that. I didn't have it long enough to really beat on it as I traded for a Maxx that was shiny with Integy junk. What a fool I was back then

Traxxas is a money pig company when it comes to spending money on parts. Almost every maxx and revo around are all rebuilt with rpm and tons of aftermarket parts because of the poor quality plastic traxxas uses. I have rebuilt my maxx countless times. Every time I fix it another issue always pops up within the first 5 minutes I finish fixing it. I have had my maxx 7 years and the first 2 years were great. After that complete waste of money. Hasnt run in 5 years due to random continuous issues. I replaced every single part on it at least 2 times each and just got a new fully assembled tranny to replace the one that was shot which was also a replacement to the original and my new one I just recently got was DOA. The electronics are the worst I have ever seen. As soo as I have mine fixed completely and everything on it is perfect I will be putting it on the market immediately. Better off buying a savage which is more durable and sadly handles better than the maxx or a LST. Even an MGT is a major improvement IMO and I'm not a fan of the way those are designed either. I know someone who owns 3 MGTs and each one had to have the tranny replaced one of his 3 had 3 new trannies within 2 years. As long as the savage is set up correctly you will have 0 issues. I know 3 people who own a savage and only one of them has issues due to stupidity (putting engine way too hard against the spur gear.) The other 2 peoples savages blow my maxx away which has a 3.3 on it. I'm actually going to get a savage when I sell the maxx. Traxxas fans I'm not trying to offend you with what I said but my past experience with Traxxas was absolutely horrible and I know many others who have the same opinion of traxxas including my lhs which makes a killing off selling traxxas parts.

First part is true, the Savage is more durable. Second part is partially false, the LST will out handle a Savage all day, I'm not sure about the Maxx vs Savage for handling.

Savage the best on the market LOL! Not sure about that prob the toughest but if you that slow its hard to break something.

Every tmaxx i have owned has been slower than my savage, I'm not sure why you think they are slower than the tmaxx.

I found the LST platform to be pretty fragile compared to my savage. The revo was as well.

The only "strength/durability" upgrades I've done on my savage-X so far is an RPM center skid to protect the brakes and rubber grommets behind the bumpers to avoid the bumper stand offs getting broke.

I have upgraded the diffs to XL, but that was more of a "worn out" issue than weakness/failure issue.

On my aftershock, I upgraded the arms, turnbuckles, chassis deck, center skid (almost required to avoid bending the trans input shaft, as I did), bumper grommets as well, new era roll bar, 4mm bolts for the shocks, alloy cases for the shocks, rc raven multi-rate springs, rpm arms, engine brace and diff collars.

Even with all that, I kept busting chassis rails. I busted 4 or 5 sets before I finally made a skid plate to tie the front skid to the center skid.

After all that, it was a tank that would rival my savage at the time. But each one of those upgrades was necessary for me to get it to be "tough".

So now I can cross the XXL of my consideration list....what do I have left to choose from

I know I just ordered the FLM savage parts...does anyone know if they're MAXX line up is still in production.

Every tmaxx i have owned has been slower than my savage, I'm not sure why you think they are slower than the tmaxx.

Just my experience with the Savage truck none I have owned have been that fast. But I did not mean that the Savage line of trucks are not great quality. The Savage is prob the toughest truck out there. I own four savage trucks now, All have been great rigs. I believe everyone has a Brand of choice they like. I prefer Traxxas rigs, all my Traxxas rigs have been good quality.

Thanks bud......bought some stuff wasn't thrilled

on ebay here are a bunch of aluminum hop ups from RDLogics here is a link http://compare.ebay.com/like/130944616483?var=lv&ltyp=AllFixedPriceItemTypes&var=sbar

Thanks for the link, sur3fir3, I had bought an R/D logic...at least i think thats who made them air filter/dual stinger rear mounting pipe for one of my savages.......and it was really disheartening, power band went right out the window, along with run time, I was so tired of trying to find a tune with that stuff that I tossed it all in a drawer and forgot about it until you gave me the link.

Do you know of any other part links?

my first was a stampede from traxxas and now its a nitro stampede 2.5r and if the revo is anything like these it will last forever the electric one has been driven almost every day for 4 years and the person before me had it for 2 so 6 years old most expencive thing that went in to it was a new battery 40 bucks
sorry off topic just want to help

In another thread in micros and minis?, I'm gonna give traxxas a try, but I'm afraid by the time my parts are all together I won't have any idea what the stock version will be like.....it's a 1/16 slash its on its way home to me now.

No I don't know for sure I think it's the same one as SMAXXINs

But I'm already looking into another set up, mamba monster2 with a 1550 or 2250 KV? I don't know anything about brushless so I'm hoping to get some good info.
