Well needed som parts for my Revo 3.3 and since the drive is far and gas is pricey I went to Hobbypeople to get a simple part for the Revo. I needed to replace the rear rod end. The tool behind the counter tells me that there is no part to replace that and I would need to buy the complete rod end. They offered the stock end but then showed me that the sweet red aluminum rods were only a dollar more. Since he told me that I asked him if that was the part I needed to replace what I came in for. Of course the ass he was he said... "for sure". I was just excited it was only a dollar more.

Then as I was leaving, a guy that was in there trying to return a Resonator pipe came up to me outside. He tells me that he wanted to return the pipe he just got a couple weeks ago. The pipe at the shop is like 50 bucks. They would not take it back w/o a reciept an give him full price for the return. He offered it to me for 30 bucks. NEW IN PACKAGE!!! That was cool.

Back to the story... I come home and the part I got is not the one. It was for the Pushrod not the turnbuckle like I asked. ARRRGGGGHHH!!

Now I got the correct ones ordered online as well as the red turnbuckles.

Had to vent....

Will post pics later....

Hey look on the bright side, you just got a brand new $50 pipe for $30. Things happen for a reason.

Thats the reason I always walk in with part numbers, one shop has good prices but never know what kind of idiot is behind the counter. The other shop has better service buy it cost more. At least you got a cool pipe, is it dual or single chambered?

thats how come i get my stuf at hobbytown in tyler even though its further by 15miles than the hobby shop in longview.........hobbytown gives you the right part & if they aint got it they will have it the next day.......theyll even putthe part on for ya for nothin if you buy the part from them........another thing i like about hobbytown is if you find & show some sorta proof that you found a part you need cheaper somewhere else wether its online, magazine or another shop, they will match that price or a tad better.....

True true true. Excited but man I try to avoid HP for a reason. I just thought gas was too expensive to go to my normal LHS. I was wrong. I was even thinking of geting some fuel. Glad I didn't I would n't be able to drive the thing anyways!

This is one of the reasons why I like getting my parts online. If I can't get them online my lhs usually know exactly what i'm talking about. They either have it or if they dont the order it for me and call me when its in.

Atleast you got a nice pipe at a good price. So maybe it happened for a reason.

Yeah I should have got the part number but tsince they ha the parts list there I figured... he has to be right. OMG even with that he was wrong.

i got to where i order parts online too......saves on gas bill.....when you go to the hobbyshop you are spending money.....(for the part, the shipping cost + the hobbyshops markup on that part)......ordering online your only paying for the part + shipping & sometimes there is no shipping charge through some online parts companys.......

Hopefully from RushRC - he doesn't seem to have these problems.

You're fully of bad luck when it comes to ordering parts aren't you ;)

Well I have been pretty impatient lately when it comes to the Revo. After this bout I am going to places I depend on. LOL

We have two LHSs. One I can go into an always get the right part. They look everything up and show you the parts list in a book or printed out. Its a great double checking system. The other one, LOL I have them trained to let me behind the counter to look up the part myself. They have no one properly trained or anything close to even a noob in the RC department.

Most of the time if I get the wrong part its my fault.

As for ordering online I only do so when parts arent available locally or are unreasonable priced in comparison.

Hehehe, I don't even live out there and I hate HobbyPeople. I think I can guess which one you went to too. Anyway, that sucks. I've always found it odd that all the LHS out in CA have everything behind the counter. It makes it so hard to McGyver parts from one vehicle to see if they will work in another.

The one I normally go to has the parts so you can pick them out yourself. Just the high end stuff is behind the counter. Love that one but I am hating gas prices right now.

It's the same way at the shops I visit, everything is behind the counter. They don't understand putting a parts made for truck A on truck B.

Damn jon,You and your revo have nothing but problems,At least you got something outta it.The lhs i go to,Has all of the parts behind counter. But if you ask he'll be more than happy to grab a load ofem and start comparing.
