What is so expensive about the manufacturing of Turbo Plugs that makes them so much more expensive???
 
I assume nothing. Cost difference is probably mostly attributed to the fact that if a person needs a turbo plug then they in fact "need" a turbo plug, and not a normal plug. they will pay the higher price. It's just the same as standard maintanence on high end cars. Some things can't be done by just any technician so you pay and arm and leg at the dealer.
 
I'd say getting the bottom machining on the body would be a bit more expensive...tolerances need to be tighter since there are no copper/brass seals.....the bottom taper must fit perfectly into the head button.....I don't think that should necessitate the doubled prices but it could justify a lil bit of it.....
