I'm working hard to get some VF Dig units ordered. They are arriving at the stores but will be selling out immidiately, and some will be selling out in the pre sale stage. I'm working with some of the connections that I've made to try and get some reserved or have first choice when they get in stock. Is there anyone besides me and Savage Basher that for sure wants a dig unit or two? I already have one unit, but I'm going to order two more while I can. They're going to be around $80 for the servo and linkage and servo mounts, or $100 for everything including the servo. If you for sure want one, let me know and I'll try my hardest to work out a deal with some of the vendors that I know, and I'll order them and you can just pay me. I'm doing this to help out my friends, as I've been working on this night after night and trying to take some of the work off of you guys. If you have negative thoughts that I'm trying to profit from this or you don't trust me, than just don't go through me, beacuse frankly I'm working way too hard to get hassled over something that will cost me money in the end with the shipping and such.

i would but money is tight...but i am sure that will help people, you're always doin what you can, thats what i like about you bud

Alright, good news all around. I did manage to get a good hookup, who will let me pay for and reserve as many as I need and he will pull them out for me as soon as he receives his shipment. There are A LOT of people waiting on these, and some stores got theirs and sold out in a few minutes. Also, he's letting me have them for a few dollars less than I was able to find at the cheapest place, so it will be a little less than I thought for the dig units. If you want one let me know, because they will be arriving and sold out in a couple of days.

NICE work charlie, count me in for one. Does this include everything you need or do you need other components? Probably a dumb question but I haven't even opened the box on my ax10 yet and not quite sure how it all mates up.....

edit: BTW thanks for organizing all this, I've been eyeballing these for a while and its great that you are taking the time to deal with it. THANKS!

dude, what all besides the dig would i need for it to work on mine? new recievers?

The only thing as far as mechanics wise that you will need is a servo. It has the linkage with it and comes with the servo mount to attach it all as one unit. It needs a HiTec 225 servo that usually runs around $20. Now for the radio system, you will need a transmitter with a 3 position 3rd channel. There are some radios that you can buy that already have this built in, but most guys use a traxxas TQ3. You can take the TQ3, and install a 3 position switch where the red shift button is really easy. You can buy the new radio modded for about $60 with receiver, or you can buy a used one and buy the parts to mod it for around $10 for the parts, $15-$20 for the tx and rx, which is about $30 for everything. Heck, some of you probably have a tq3 and maybe the parts too laying around. The old spektrum DX3 systems can be used (but not DX3.0) and the Spektrum DX3R can be used. I'm going the DX3R route, but I had to save my money for a few weeks. Also, the multiplex and nomadio systems can be used, but the receivers are expensive for those. I reccomend using the traxxas radios to start with and then you can upgrade to the Spektrum if you feel the need. You would be amazed to see how many of the serious comp guys are running the modded TQ3 systems. I can provide a link to the traxxas radio instructions, and where they are for sale already modded, but it will have to be tomorrow. It's been a really long day, and I've been working on getting a connection for the dig units since I got home from work.

If you're thinking about dig, this is the unit to jump on. Hands down, the axial guys running dig agree that the VF unit is the only unit that you can install, use constantly, and depend on. The others have to be rebuilt, adjusted, and maintained constantly, and everyone running them says they wish they would have bought a VF dig (of the people that I talked to about the matter). I don't know if this unit will sell out everywhere or not. They made a lot of them, but I can tell you that there are A LOT of people trying to buy the units right now. They haven't been in stock anywhere in months, and the used units have been fetching upwards of $100. So I know that there's a good chance they will sell out quick, and I'm not taking any chances.

I'm going to be building one sometime in about a week so that I can write a good how to article with parts list and everything. I'm not going to need it, so I'll probably sell it once I get it built and finish the article. The article will be for the RCNT page, so you'll have everything you need to mod one yourself, or you can buy the one that I mod if you want.
