Just wanted to find out who runs there nitro in snow,i know about waterproofing but wanted to see what people here have to say about it?

if you get stuck, pin it till it dies. jk. its lots of fun and jump building and landing ramp material is everywhere. Although i don't think many here actually get snow. That is coming from a frost bitten canadian boy.

I LOVE running in snow! and like flanders said, jump matirial is everywhere! i like to make small snow tracks in the lot next to my house in the winter. snow driving is definatly a new expeirence in rc.

Yep, I run nitro in snow, but I use a "winter" engine. I really only run my aftershock in the snow as my other two are too low to the ground (1/8 buggy and jato). I run an old backup engine, OS21RG. It doesn't perform nearly as well as the LRP28 I run in spring/summer/fall, but since it's winter and cold, performance isn't as important. It will push my truck around just fine.

I run a winter engine because the excess temp changes from hot to cold are unavoidable as snow is constantly hitting the engine and cooling it really quickly. Also, it's tough to get the engine up to proper operating temps. Neither of these scenarios promote long engine life. So I run an engine I don't care much about.

Olds, do you know of any cheap engines i can get for my T-Maxx just for the winter? I just bought a new 3.3 and dont really want to run it in the snow if it makes the engine life shorter..or any one no of one?

There aren't a lot of "cheap" engines that bolt into the t-maxx without getting other parts, which defeats your purpose as far as $ is concerned.

Maybe just pick up a 2.5R off ebay or something. Or, just run your current 3.3 and save up for a new 3.3 for next season. Then your current one becomes your permanent winter engine until it dies completely.

Running in the winter is awesome. Like stated above, jumps are everywhere! Landings are generally softer as well  And it'sjust a blast to see white stuff being spewed all over the place :)

Thats my favorite part of ANYTHING.

:goodpost:

Just because you have a new 'play-toy' doesn't mean you have to go and rub our noses in it.
Um, actually, on second thought, I'd be okay with that. :D

J/K.......BTW, congrats on finding someone! Makes each day a little brighter doesn't it.

The pro .15 engine will need a different throttle linkage, exaust manifold, and EZ start. The engine mount will work fine along with the clutch and flywheel
