which way do i go?

hey there everyone...ok, i have been runnin the crap out of my truck, and last week, i had to have had that thing apart 6 times at least, changing the 1-2 shift point on my 3 speed. i finally got it just right, and my truck puked its CB and Spur, which was 17/47, and i went back to my 13/52 ratio. i've already made a couple adjustments to the 1-2 shift, making it come on earlier, but i can't get it to shift.

so, i guess my question is, with my lower gear ratio, would i need to create an ealier shift point, or a later one?

i'm just getting sick and tired of rippin my truck apart so much.
i also need to replace my rims with 17mm hexes, cause that STS is just an animal! also, i'm sorry if this has already been answered alot, but i couldnt figure out how to word it in the search box. thanks in advance!

13/52 for CB and spur? Man, that is llloooowwww. You will need to back your shifting screws out (at least on a stock two speed it would be out) to make it shift significantly earlier. Your not getting anywhere near the RPM's at the trans as you were with 17/47. This requires a much earlier shift point.

thanks olds...i dont remember if i ran 13/52 on my 3 speed before or not...the main reason i went back to this is because my 17/47 chewed itself up, and i had these laying around....also, do you know if i can find a like a 49 or 47 spur ring that will fit my robinson racing spur hub? and...do you know if a savage X tranny case can be used with a regular savage TVP (savage 21)?

i start my new job in a couple weeks, and i am getting a bunch of stuff, a spur ring of different T count and CB could be in order.

Yes; it's a direct drop-in, and comes with all the parts you need to change them out.
