Just between these two, none others...

Brand new Westinghouse 40" LCD 1080p which will be $380 said and done....

OR

A used 2008 LG Plasma 720 50", asking $415 but price is negotiable... Thought Id offer $315...

This will be in my bedroom, a hour or two a night....And no I'm not anti plasma's, I love my current plasma.

Depending on your room size, you may want to stay away from the plasma. If it's anything like the plasma I have in my gaming/computer room, the heat generated from the TV added to the heat coming out of a gaming system can be unbearable in the summer. Great in the winter tough. LOL

I did not have this problem with the LCD I had in there before.

Personally I would go with the LCD. Plasma's have a life span are prone to pixcel issues and burn in. I would stick with the new LCD which is not prone to burn in or pixcel issues.

I got a Phillips 42" LED/LCD for a little more at Sam's Club and really love it. Because of the heat build up I would recommend against the plasma TV.

I have a 54" plasma now that I sit like 8 ft away from in my game room and it doesn't bother be much, had it in my room before that but it was in the winter so I didnt notice it...I'll prolly just go with the lcd since its new and I no for sure how its life has been.

The westinghouse has almost nothing but good reviews.

i got a westinghouse 15" lcd for my kids about two years ago and its been a real good tv. the digital channels were messed up for along time but it turned out to be our cable provider and they have sinced fixed the problem so the tv works great.

My best friend has a westinghouse TV and it is not as pretty as some of the more well known brands... but it has a great picture and works like a charm.

I went with a Sceptre instead. My buddy said he has two of the same model and his parents have 3 of the same model and they love them. Was $20 cheaper so I did that instead...Anything is better than the 25" sharp old ass tv I have in there now lol, bought it new in 2001...

I just said screw it when I moved and threw out my old ass Sony that I had. It wasn't worth lugging up the stairs to the bedroom. So now, no tv in bedroom.
