which tires are best for off and on road

I just want the smaller rims and tires. I don't care about the speed. I want it to crawl around and do well in the corners. With a 21 conversion and lots of aluminum and steel, this sucker is really top heavy and likes to roll.

Plus, i thought it would be kind of cool.

Thanks for the heads up though. I don't build for speed. Just durability. Smaller rims=less pressure against turnbuckles and carriers on not so perfect landings.

pretty damn long , i was thinking the same thing when i bought them but 2-3 gal later the nubs are still there just rounded a little i could post a pic. ill try to post one soon

i run them on hot arizona asphalt too, rocks grass and concrete they "stick" to any surface. i think the racers use them but not sure i dont race mine , just beat the crap out of it.

Cool.

Not to be a pain, but how hard are the sidewalls and foam? I've been tearing up imex's medium compound tires. I rip the sidewalls on hard landings. The edge of the rim cuts through them like pizza cutters.

I just bought a full set of savage stock tires. I ran 2 on the rear in the snow to see how they work. For traction, they seem to be a good inbetween with stock traxxas chevron and imex medium. I get good traction and minimal sidewall flex.

I run a 21 conversion with a lot of metal. Heavy. I should weigh the thing for kicks.

never had a problem, the side wall are pretty thick. U should go to the LHS and check them out fo yourself. Dont have any experience with IMex products. and no u aint a pain. this is the kinda stuff these forums are made for.

I can honestly say I've never done that one.

I figured it was more common. I've torn a full set of tires this way. It rips about an inchlong hole right at the seam where the rim meets the rubber. When you try to drive it with the tires like that, they wobble to beat hell. I replace them to avoid excess shock and drivetrain wear.

I have been known to use pieces of my army sleeping mat (don't tell them). It's a high density foam. I will put the store bought foams into the tire then the custom made ones and glue them on the tire. You'll lose a little of the built in shock absorbsion of the tires but no more split tires. I can also say I have bever damaged a rim or suspension as a result or side effect. Least not from something that it would have survived it I hadn't put the additional foam in the tire.
