i was planning on buying some new tires and rims but i really dont know what to look for i want some that are equally good for on road and off road because i run on both. any suggestions or links will really help me
THNX ALOT

I am not sure what the best are myself being a newb but I did just pick up a set of road rage tires for on road and I am looking at big joes for off road. I would think if you are looking for the best of both worlds something like the 'pin' (sorry dont know real name) type tires which you see on most stadium trucks would be good.

I'll second the ProLine Maxx Mashers for off-road. I'll put the ProLine Road Rage up as the tire of choice for on-road.

Imex swamp dawg's medium-soft for snow/ice
Stock tires for grass
Savage stock tires for grass, snow, dirt
?? for pavement, what are you driving a MT on pavement for?

I do speed runs in the street. Gets the engine wound out and lets the neighbors see what I've got. I usually run my truck out on the street after major changes to make certain everything is tight. Then the real bashing begins...off-road.

None-the-less, I felt the need to answer the question. Some people only run on the street. Some actually race on the street. Some don't have much choice.

You might ask why they buy an MT in the first place? I ask that just about everytime I run across some full sized Suburban that requires a step ladder to get into on the open road...

Then I think the Tim Allen "power....oh yeah" thing.

well the reason i asked this is because I'm only 14 and i can't drive yet so i can't always go to the tracks ant my lhs so sometimes i run it on my street but at the same time i run it on the dirt track so i was just wondering

Now you're talking.

Tam13, don't sweat it. Olds is just busting my chops because he can...

Run what you can where you can.

hey the if your looking for some real good style rims for your truck they got some spinner rims they have got to be the nicest rims on the market and arent all that much for them to be aluminum just go to yahoo and type it in and I'm sure it will bring up some stuff and here is a good place for some tires and rims for t-maxx's:shy: http://imex.clodparts.com/catalogmaxxtires.html there is some nice tires and rims there.

Yeah, i was just being funny is all.

I'd suggest street type tires for street and any of the other's i listed for the appropriate terrain. I don't know if i'd go so far to actually buy slicks, but street tread tires like Pro-Lines Road Rage tires are pretty good. I have a set for my xxx-nt when i'm just fooling around in a parking lot. But for off road, i stick with the pin type tires in it.

Pro-line has the same style for maxx sized tires and 40 series.

Here's the standard part# for Pro-Line at their site:
MAXX Road Rage #1082-00

Here's a link to the site. I couldn't get a direct link to the tires, so just navigate around to find it.

http://www.pro-lineracing.com/proline.html

Follow this link, click on products on the left side, click the ugly orange t-maxx pic, then click on tires. It's a few sets down and they also have them pre-mounted for a little more $. You can see the prices once you click on the Maxx Road Rage tire.

Go get some Imex Baja Tires for offroad & some TRC Park Tires for on-road.

The Baja will dish it out when cornering & the Park have some real nice grip on the street.

Later....

I would probably suggest the 40 series Big Joe's. They are wide enough with a shorter sidewall than regular monster truck tires and also comes with firm inner foam for added stability. However I believe the tread type is intended more for offroad. A good choice nontheless.

Damn!!! I posted a link a few weeks ago looking to see if anyone knew how to put 1/8 buggy tires on a maxx!!! The radrc 3-speed conversion kit does just that!!.

Maybe they will sell the wheels/tires and converting hubnuts seperate.

Just remember witrh smaller tires comes faster wear. The 3 speed conversion didn't work well for me and I kept burning up clutches, in less than a single tank of fuel. Something to consider.
